Number 1 Bar, London Bridge

Monday early evening is going to go down in the annals of history as a truly immense session of pool took place. One of the participants destroyed his opponent (thehustler - ha, yeah right, he couldn't hustle an English tourist in an Egyptian market square) at the 8 ball table. Some of the shots being potted were unbelievable, the likes of which havent been since Alex The Hurricane Higgins was on the snooker circuit . The final score was 12-6 and a very telling score line it was too, this does not bode well for the Championship that they are about to undertake. I may go easy on him though to not put him through that sort of public humiliation again. Maybe next time the underhand tactic of saying the car was parked at the station so you couldnt drink will not be used.

Good pool bar right next to the station with 2 8 ball pay per game tables and four larger tables you can rent by the hour. Not many beers on tap. Also sells food and has four or five flat screens showing sport.

The Royal George, Euston

This is a good boozer, I have been working in the area on and off for 5 years now and it has changed a great deal for the better. The dodgy element has been eliminated by the new managers.

Pint and shot prices are not bad for compared to other pubs in the area but bottles can be - 3.08 for a WKD Blue.

Staff are friendly and efficient, it gets busy on a Friday but they have enough people on nowadays to make the wait bearable.

The only problem is the blokes toilets - if you need a turnout I'd recommend heading to Euston station and paying the 20p so that at least you get a seat!
