The Jolly Farmer, Worplesdon

24 of us went for lunch there today. Great food and service whilst sitting in the garden. Would recommend it, although the car park got a a bit busy!

The Talbot Arms, Uplyme

Came here for lunch a couple of weeks ago on a very wet and quiet day. Got chatting with the landlord about his 3D tv and found him to be one of the friendliest landlords I've ever met. I'd love to have a local like this, good honest pub food, good beer, nice people; what more could you want.

The Cobb Arms, Lyme Regis

We really like this pub because they have a great Gluten free menu and their GF Battered Fish N Chips is the best we've evert tasted. Beer and non GF was good too although staff were somewhat rushed.

The Rowbarge, Woolhampton

Perfectly acceptable pub/dining room located in a nice spot on the Kennet and Avon. Had lunch there yesterday and service was quick and friendly. London Pride was good.

The Red House, Marsh Benham

Had dinner here earlier this week whilst passing through on the canal. The Red House is more of a restaurant than a pub and we had an excellent dinner. Didn't try any Beer but the wine was excellent. Food was of a high-standard but this isn't ordinary pub food so expect to pay for it - we certainly did!

Dundas Arms, Kintbury

Had lunch with the family whilst passing through on a canal boat earlier this week. The pub was very busy with a large number of people having lunch. Despite this we received our well-cooked and tasty food very quickly and a good meal was had by all. Beer was also good. Bill was higher than I'd expected but by means excessive.

The Scott Arms, Kingston

We went to the Scott Arms week before last having set out to go the Compasses in Worth Matravers. When we got to the Compasses we found there was no food suitable for a gluten free diet so drove on to see what we could find and stumbled upon the Scott Arms and we were glad we did. The view to Corfe Castle is fantastic and the garden a delight. The food was excellent as was the Beer. All-in-all much recommended.

The Fox Goes Free, Charlton

Went for lunch with my wide and two children, 11 and 7, on the way back from some wet camping last weekend. Only second visit and the food was as excellent as the first time. Not really a children's pub in that whilst they are very welcome there isn't any children's entertainment as such. Beer, wine and food all very good.

If you're driving back from Chichester, pull off the main road and enjoy an excellent pub.

The garden is worth a visit alone, being a small orchard with beautiful views over the south downs.
