Sir Douglas Haig, Effingham

After many changes in management it is now run by the very competent Sarah and Monty. It's cleaner, tidier, friendlier with good food. Worth a try if you haven't been for a while.

The Anchor, Bookham

The 3.20 is a guest bitter, the bitters start from 2.90 which is fairly standard in this area.

The Roadhouse, Covent Garden

Fabulous Band on Friday night (The Chebbs) Staff were very polite and efficient, which makes a nice change. Not keen on the music the DJ was playing, but all in all a good night.

The Victoria, Oxshott

Excellent pub - what pubs should be, good atmosphere true character. The Thai restaurant is not only one of the most established and best in Surrey, the staff are lovely and the cleanest kitchen i've ever seen. Few celebs around, but not at all pretentious.

Ye Olde Windsor Castle, Bookham

Bland bland bland - food ok, decor ok, beer ok, lacks character. Big garden but they even took out the kids play area - obviously too exciting for the huge chain that took it over. The place people go when they don't want to be spotted....

The Anchor, Bookham

Lovely old fashioned, clean pub. No children allowed in the bar, only in the garden during the summer. Has character and charm, excellent food at lunchtimes but gets busy. Great Place for a quiet drink, by far the best pub in the area.
