The John Snow, Soho

Nice, slightly tatty but relaxed pub, cheap beer. Often seems packed even when it's half empty.

The Edinboro Castle, Camden

Interesting and decently sized pub, great beer garden in the summer, good belgian beers, but a 'laid back' service. I like the decor myself (I suppose you could call it poncey compared to wetherspoons and the moon under water) and think it's nice and comfy inside. Can often get a good seat, and the music's not bad (barring weekends).

Sharkeys, Hull

I used to love this place. The great cocktails, the comfy wooden booths with their battered leather sofas, the shark sticking out above the bar, the ties on the wall, the friendly bar staff, the open (midweek) music policy. It's all gone a bit too plasticky and shiny for my liking nowadays, but maybe that's just me being stuck in my ways...

Durty Nelly's, Hull

Pseudo Irish songs on a loop, giant Jenga and table football, nice comfy sofas at the front. Would you believe they serve Guinness? The Durty Nelly's on tap is no more unfortunately (although they might empty a drip tray into a glass for you if you're lucky)
