The Thorntree Inn, Cockenzie

Good friendly pub with great views of the sea from the Lounge bar. Always worth a visit

The Prestoungrange Gothenburg, Prestonpans

I visited this pub full of expectation only to find that the brewer has left and the micro brewery closed down. What a shame all the hard work and investment has come to nothing.Staff not that friendly - ownly the food wil keep this place going.

The Levenhall Arms, Musselburgh

I must admit being new to the area I visited the pub only by mistake, but how pleased I was to make such a mistake. From what I could tell this is still a family run and owned pub and long may it continue in this manner. The two real ales on tap were new to me but were served in perfect condition. The hospitality was so good I stayed longer than intended, had a bite to eat from the traditional pub grub menu and settled in for a game of dominoes with the Landlords son. I am pleased I was on my mountain bike that day or it could have been an expensive taxi home. If only more pubs treated you like this there would not be a recession in the pub industry.
