The Wooden Bridge, Guildford

Could not be bothered to cook and thought we would try here for a change. Wish we had gone to the chip shop and eaten whilst standing in the freezing cold! Staff so busy amusing each other they had no time for the customers and our meals were awful (after wating for 45 minutes). Garlic bread was nice 'tho. Should have had chocolate pudding I 'spose, but could not wait to leave. Use of anglo saxon terms in reference to ladies parts was word of the day!

The Cranley Hotel, Cranleigh

Not quite sure what it is but there is something missing in the atmosphere of the place. OK enough but 'erm... Yeh, just OK

The Anchor Inn, Godalming

Wine from Sainsburys on sale by the bottle... Felt ripped off.

Goat and Tricycle, Bournemouth

Asked the owner of the Charlesworth Hotel where we were staying to point us in the direction of good beer and food. 10/10 on both counts. Lovely atmosphere. Good selection of ales and cider. Simple pub grub and Goat curry on the menu. Wish this pub was in our area. Will be back. :-)

The Ship In Distress, Stanpit

We have been coming here for several years as a treat and looked forward to our evening in late September with happy anticipation. We have many warm memories of the Ship in Distress, the warm welcome, good beer, fantastic fish, petit fours... ALL GONE :-(
We got brisk, inefficient service with no smile, they did not care at all. Starters were served on chipped plates, hot main course on cold plates, beer was served in dirty glass and was not, I suspect, from clean lines as it was somewhat cloudy. The restaurant area has been redecorated and has lost much of its character. Felt ripped off and usually spend twice as much. Won't be back.

The Little Park Hatch, Cranleigh

This is probably the best "Pub" in Cranleigh. Nice open fire in the winter. Great garden in the summer. Food not too expensive. Nice Sunday roast. Good selection of beer. And they still put free nibbles on the bar...

The Crown, Chiddingfold

The management at present have got it about right. Food very good and the locals bar is just where it should be. Well done, keep it up x x

The Wood Pigeon, Wormley

This place has been the kiss of death finiancially with massive overheads for evey tennant who has been here since Buff and Sharon. Many have tried(Steve P, Nicky W, Mr& Mrs T and Mr Nick B may he RIP)but nobody has managed to make it. The local people do not support the pub and the ones who do think that they can do what they like which keeps the nice people away...
Closed at the moment so maybe an Indian Restaurant or a nice block of flats...

The Red Lion, Godalming

Great pub. And what is wrong with going through the gents to get from one side to the other? They don't seem to mind or even notice!!!

The Kings Arms Royal Hotel, Godalming

This place is the pits. Needs a good clean. Cask ale is not very well kept due to lack knowledge by the management let alone the staff. The staff need to crawl back under a stone somewhere... And as for food DO NOT GO THERE!
Some contractors who were Hotel guests were told to go to Wetherspoons for breakfast because the "chef" could not be bothered to cook that day. THEY HAD A LUCKY ESCAPE!!!
Rated 1/10 for being there.... Sorry but the sheep speaks only the truth!

The Manor Inn, Godalming

Yep, I made the mistake of eating here too. It is not a pub and DEFINATELY not a restaurant. Cold garlic bread (not difficult to get it right even when cooked from frozen from Brake Brothers). Cold plates with hot (well tepid) food. Staff did not give a toss. We complained and worried about what they would do with our main course so did not eat it. Will not be back...
I have rated this 1/10 for being there...

The Slug and Lettuce, Godalming

I have been visiting this place since it opened and must say that it is very friendly. The staff are very helpful and work long hours. Often they are still smiling after a 12 hour shift... The food is really good (much better than Parisa days)and the coffee is to die for. Great place for breakfast in the summer or to go and raise a glass or three with friends in the evening... AND THERE IS A BIG SCREEN FOR THE WORLD CUP....
