Sold recently and bought by locals who have leased it to the guys who run the Snowdrop in Lewes. Impeccably decorated inside with various shades of green and some quirky "pieces". It has a very pleasing atmosphere. Jury still out on the mustard coloured outside though. Good food very similar to the Snowdrop and well kept beers. Not many locals there but presumably the place is still finding its feet. Although it's somewhat 'gastro' there were folk there just drinking who seemed welcome.
There are outside benches and they have rooms.

The Wenlock Arms, Hoxton
Love going here when I'm in the area. Great Real Ale pub and a CAMRA favourite. Mainly local clientele with the odd tourist. Many beers on hand pump and a good few specialists beers on keg. Now has its own micro brewery in the cellar - BLOCK brewery but it's not always available as they seem to sell out quicker than they can brew! There's the odd pie available but no food to speak of.
