The Manor Arms, Rushall

Excellent quaint pub run by family from Cheshire - as described in other reviews. We moored our narrowboat right outside on the towpath for the night - March 2012 - no one else about.

i-bar, Whetstone

Sadly for Melas the restaurant was not supported by us locals enough and the menus slipped to more banal pub grub.

The Wenlock Arms, Hoxton

It's a great trad pub with fantastic range of the most amazing beers I've seen or drunk - they change so fast you often only get one pint of something and you go back for another and the barrel's off - never mind tho' there's another 10 or so to try!! There is an upstairs meeting room you can hire - no frills - like the pub - and a trad jazz band plays in the bar some Tuesday evenings. Give it a try.

The Old Barge, Hertford

Agree with all the above - except the food was not at all impressive - quite dull really - the elvis burger [yes! - overstuffed] was nicely presented but definitely no seasoning at all so very bland. A pity as it is a great location right on the navigation tow-path. People outside were catching bucketfuls of crayfish using a kids shrimping net and a pice of chicken on a string! - they seemed more tasty!
Also - no umbrellas on the outside tables so scorching in the sun. Will definitely not go back.
