The Ape and Apple, Manchester

We have just been voted pub of the week by Manchester Evening News which complemented us on our "friendly and effiecient service", and our homemade food from the specials board.

The Ape and Apple, Manchester

The pub is under new manangement but the prices are still as cheap as ever. We still have the longest running comedy night in Manchester every Wednesday night, quiz night on Thursdays and we're starting a live music/open mic night around September. Come on in and say hello!

The Running Horse, Nottingham

ha! almost a year on from when i put a similar post to misters i see it still exactly the same. will it change in another years time.

no.

It'll still be the same middle aged men wanting a night away from their wives playing the same shite jazz/blues every single week.

The Running Horse, Nottingham

a chance for the same middle aged men to jam 3 nights a week and then give rude looks when everyone out of their circle gets up to play. claims to be a live music venue but i don't know any promoters that use it. could be great but needs to pull it head out of it's arse.

The King John, Nottingham

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Nottingham

used to be an ace, ace pub about 3/4 years ago but has gone downhill ever since. worth a look in the summer when it's full of fit italian/spanish tourists. i don't go anymore but i will take on all comers at the ringing the bull game in the downstairs bar.

The Florence Nightingale, Waterloo

i worked here. it was awful. never any customers cause the landlord was c**t and would tell people to f**k off if they ordered coffee. (funny at first after a while i just wanted to serve someone.) i worked the night of Chelsea vs Monaco champion league semi-final 2004. a group of about 20 men came in (the only customers of the night) and asked if we were showing the football. the manager told them "yes" and just as the game was about to start he put a video of Hereford Utd playing from about 3 years ago and told the men this was the football he was showing and none of that "european crap!" it sucked working there. i never got paid and it's now closed. i'm not surprised at all.

21 Aug 2006 17:54

The Rose and Crown, Mayfair

i used to work here and it is a nice pub. The manager is a great guy. food is expensive though

21 Aug 2006 17:49

The Old Angel Inn, Nottingham

ace pub. bit annoying when the staff open the juke box though and subject you to half and hour of screaming metal when you just wanna drink. the sausage and mash is amazing. I don't know how they do it!

21 Aug 2006 17:43

The Boston Arms, Tufnell Park

21 Aug 2006 17:38

Speakeasy, Nottingham

only go on a Thursday 'cause it a 1 a pint. and that's if you have to. Terrible beer, incredibly rude staff who hae no idea how to work behind a bar. And don't order food cause by the time you've fought off all the files around it'll be cold. avoid

21 Aug 2006 17:33

Ride, Nottingham

this pub is ace. always worth going. has a late licence and is never too busy that you can't move. well worth a visit.

21 Aug 2006 17:30

Foremans Bar, Nottingham

it's punk as f**k! if you go in there hoping to have a taster of of cask ale then don't bother. if you wnat a tiny pub with massive character then do bother.

21 Aug 2006 17:29

Langtry's, Nottingham

huh? i don't know what everyone's talking about? the pubs has 8 real ales on everyday! I can't think of another Nottingham city centre pub boasting that! the staff are always smiling and very easy on eye. It's a great pub and very lively on weekend nights. Most certainly worth a visit.
