The Magnet, Stockport

What a gem of a pub, called in while passing through Stockport on our way back to the Wirral from Buxton. Not only was the real ale and cider selections top class but the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Our visit was too brief but we will certainly be back.

The White Lion Inn, West Kirby

Called in on Friday before Bank Holiday. I have to say the Peerless Red Rocks was superb, only problem it ran out. What a brill pub with an excellent beer garden, certainly the best in West Kirby.

Harp Inn, Little Neston

A real local pub and in a fantastic location. Beer in great condition and superbly kept. Good selection of beers made the long walk worthwhile and being able to take the dog is a bonus. We sat outside as the weather was good but could have gone inside if we needed to with no worry about said animal. Peerless Triple Blond and Holts Bitter were very good. A visit any time of year is a must.

Hoylake Lights, Hoylake

Visited early evening and made to feel very welcome. We could only stay for a couple of beers but there was a great variety of local ales on offer and the staff were really knowledgeable (Peerless Red Rocks named after a local landmark very good). I can understand why this pub was so busy as the atmosphere, prices and the quality of the ale were all great. As it is situated between 2 railway stations it is also an easy pub to get to. Definitely worth a visit.
