The Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge

There used to be a band associated with this pub called Back Door; indeed the pub featured on their eponymous album.

The Moorcock, Langdale End

Very old style 'through the hatch' service of beer from the barrel.

Has a quality restaurant.

A real gem!!

The Anvil Inn, Sawdon

I always visit this pub when I'm in the area. If I could post a picture I'd put up a shot of the most generous steak sandwich you can find anywhere for around 3!!

The Vansittart Arms, Windsor

A very popular pub, often crowded and a regular haunt of sporting clubs and various schools' staff.

Make no mistake - this is not a child friendly pub. The landlord will not fail to make sure you understand his rules!

The Trooper, Windsor

Another fine Windsor pub. The food is excellent (expecially the apple tart) with a varied menu. Not to be missed if you're staying in Windsor for a few days.

The Prince Arthur, Windsor

This is a fine pub, run by extremely competent ladies! They put beer and wine quality before anything else and, though I'm a non-smoker, I commend them for their stance against the smoking ban.

It is also a dog friendly pub and the landlady (Emma) is always ready to help - a real community local!
