The Green Man of Grantchester, Grantchester

Am once a week regular....and really like the place....friendly staff who know how to smile and don't mind a bit of banter and only ever had one iffy pint in all the years I've benn going there and it was changed immediately with no fuss. Lovely building and atmosphere...well worth a visit.

The Lamb and Flag, Covent Garden

Made a rare visit to old london town...so had to go to my wonderful local of 35 years ago....was pleased to see it had'nt been buggered up.......but horrified to learn that it was no longer a free house and that Fulllers, the new owners, were planning a ten week ''refurbishment'' early in 2012.....so visit while you can before it's heart and soul are ripped out.......Fullers being a family run business really should know better......And for all you folk who want a clean, sterile, corporate run pub.....go and drink with the tourists!!!!!!

The Devonshire Inn, Sticklepath

Quirky, old, dusty, characterful....including the personnel!!!!! my type of pub.......and with Tinners bitter (St. Austell Ales) at 2.00 a pint....yes 2.00 a pint....I was a very happy punter!!!!Go there before it changes.

The Falcon Inn, Arncliffe

I've been going to The Falcon for over 25 years.....it's sinply a wonderful place....and yes the landlord is very direct......he's also very well informed about an enormous range of subjects....has a deliciously dry sense of humour....is a true man of the dales....and he does'nt suffer fools gladly....and why should he....just look in the guest book to see how truly popular this place is. Well worth a visit for the experience alone, let alone the wonderful Timothy Taylors beer......for all those who've reviewed on this site wishing for a more 'modern' experience may I suggest you go to your nearest Weatherspoons!!!!!!
