This is my local pub and I think I've done pretty well on that front! The staff are friendly and the decor is nice with outside seating too. There's always good local ale on tap and usually one on special offer at �2.75 which is always a bonus....
The food is very good and reasonably priced - I don't eat meat and I'm pleased to say there is always an interesting sounding veggie special on the menu.
Pub quiz is good too. The only downside is that it gets rammed when there's a match on so I tend to avoid it then. Still in Brighton you're never more than a tipsy stumble away from another pub....

The Constant Service, Brighton
Really enjoyed 3 trips to this lovely little pub now - local ales on tap and a good atmosphere inside and in the garden. Staff are friendly and I like the original vinyl playing in the background. Would like to try their homemade pies they sound good!

SO disappointed with this pub - did the Devil's Dyke walk and stopped here for lunch. Surroundings and the pub itself are nice but WAY OVERPRICED. Two lime and sodas came to �4. Treated ourselved to the �15 fish platter to share which was very disappointing. You really expect something nice for that price and it all tasted really cheap - even though I was really hungry and love fish I didn't finish it. Also what was supposed to be whitebait was tasteless watery frozen scampi and nobody said that when ordering. By the time we left there was a wait of 45 minutes to an hour for food and I felt sorry for those people waiting.
Don't bother wasting your money buying food here - bring a picnic instead!

I'm a regular at this pub and really enjoy going there. Great relaxed atmosphere inside, helped by the decor - the walls are covered with maps and the tables use retro LP covers for the menus. You can also get a sea view from a couple of tables at the front which is a bonus.
Local ale on tap varies from week to week and it's always good. The food is tasty but can be a bit pricey compared to others nearby (The Round Georges is great value in comparison).
