New landlord has recently moved into this pub and is making a very good fist of it. He says that the pub will remain the same but is introducing some basic food that will hopefully appeal to female customers.

The Bell and Bottle, Shinfield
Visited Saturday afternoon. Good pub - excellent pint of Sheep Dip and the most beautiful barmaid in Berkshire.

The Red Lion has reopened but is no longer a " village pub" - more a restaurant. I looked in but did not like what I saw so rapidly exited. The place may appeal to foodies (and women) but not me.

The management of this pub changed at end of november and the new people are young and enthusiastic. There is a good selection of draught beer and also lager. The food is very good and reasonably priced (and the locals are very civilised). In addition, a nice warm coal fire - what more can you ask.

Another great sunday afternoon spent at the Wentworth. Real people and West Ham supporters to a man (and woman).

Great pub (for Sidmouth) with a good sociable landlord. I watched West Ham beat Preston here - so maybe I'm predjudiced.

The Rose and Crown, Sandhurst
This is a great pub and has certainly benefitted from the new management, Great pint of Otter Bitter.
