The Partridge, Partridge Green

Popped in for the second time (1st was opening night) & enjoyed Dark Star Over the Moon & Thornbridge Brother Rabbit both in excellent condition. A large but very friendly pub with a great selection of beers plus bottles.
Very handy for the Dark Star Brewery & the Downs Link path.
Well worth a visit or two or three.

The Royal Oak, Rusper

Congratulations to the Royal Oak on winning CAMRAs 'Bus to the Pub' Pub of the Year 2010 a well deserved winner and well worth the walk from Kingsfold.
It proves this pub is somewhat special as it was one of the hardest pubs to get to by bus and involves a long walk to & from the bus stop, although I believe the landlady has been nagging the the bus company to come past the pub.
A couple of stunning pints of Dark Star Hop Head on my last visit.

The Surrey Oaks, Newdigate

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...Only 2 more days to wait...

Watch out for a pub 'Full of self-satisfied tree-hugging chumps', after all this is a Real Ale & Cider festival!

Sorry, I could resist - The beer list does look stunning though as does the entertainment so well worth as visit or two or three!

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...?!?!?!?!

foghorn - you've been reported!

Please take your abuse with you & leave BITE now. There is now need for it & no reason for it.
JonBonser post was a good posting supporting a good pub.

Masons Arms, Branscombe

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...bang (just little one though)

Recently sold to St Austell Brewery so now selling upto 4 of their beers on draft plus a selection of their bottled beers. Not really a problem unless you don't like their beer.
Thankfully still serving one of the excellent local ales as a guest, for me that was Branscombe Summa That, a stunner on a summers day.
Food still excellent especially the local crap & fish caught off the beach where the infamous SS Napoli was grounded. Worth a trip to the beach to see the anchor which was presented to the village as a thank you for putting up with the clean up process.
Cosy rooms, not cheap but after a few beers and meal a must.
Well worth fighting your way down the narrow lanes to visit.
For more Branscombe ales try the Fountain Head up the road a little, a village with two great pubs how lucky are they?

The Surrey Oaks, Newdigate

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...Only 13 days until...

Just been on the 'Beertickersfilm' website and I see that it is going on tour and it's first stop is the Surrey Oaks! All it says is that it's on the 29th Aug but no time is listed, any ideas?

Re posts - There are some very strange posts attacking the pub. All I can say is that on my visits I have always found the beer to be excellent, the service good and the food as good as I would expect. I had an excellent Xmas diner there last year.

Bridge House, Copsale

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...Booooom!
Closed the time I passed by, BUT there is a moble caravan in the car park and there appears to be some work going on...Reopening of house conversion? I'm not sure.

The Red Lion Inn, Shoreham by Sea

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...
Not long now until the Shoreham airshow.
There is no better place to watch it from. Last year I ordered some excellent ales from the bar and walked over to the bridge across the road and enjoyed the show and my beer.
The windows did rattle a bit when the Euro fighter and Vulcan came over.

The Dukes Head, Beare Green

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...
Time is running out for this pub when the large For Sale signs outside.
No matter how hard they have tried it's just a rubbish pub,the local village deserve better (sounds like a good #bite handle!).

Plough at Blackbrook, Blackbrook

Tick...Tock...Tick...Tock...Booooom!
Time has run out for the once glorious Plough at Blackbrook.
Definately closed & for sale when I wandered past the other day.
