Globe Inn, Rye

This pub has just re-opened (9th March 2014) after extensive renovation. What can one say except fantastic! This place is a real hidden gem! They have a good selection of real ales and lager.
The food menu is high quality gastro pub.

The decor is done beautifully with open log fires and a very quirky bar. The outside sitting area is also decorated to a very high standard and will be lovely in the summer.

There is also a local gentleman who can be found frequently using this pub who has a rather large beard and wears a flat chap (Mark). He adds real character to the pub and he's always got a story to tell if you buy him a pint!

If your going to Rye this is the place to be!!

The South Western, Whitton

This pub is no longer called The Great Western. Its now the "Blue Ginger Bar". The worst name I have ever heard! It has a Indian restaurant out the back, I haven't tried the food so can't comment. This place still needs a lot of work, I live local and was with high hopes when it was taken over and the work started, but it hasn't met the mark. The name is all wrong I just don't want to drink in a pub called The Blue Ginger!

The Crown, St Margarets

We visited this pub on Sunday for lunch. The Sunday roast was very disappointing! for the price and what you got I would not recommend have it.

The outside area is great for kids and plenty of tables. Inside is a pleasant wooden contemporary feel, the beer was fine and the staff seemed ok.

The big down side of this pub is the food! not very good and over priced.

The Drunken Duck Inn, Barngates

This pub is upmarket and the food is expensive!! The average age of the customers is about 50. Pleasant inside but not your typical country pub, but the location is lovely. Its a bit to poncey for me and the menu wasn't that great, my wife is a veggie and there was only one choice. If you do want to go for a meal, you must book it gets very busy.

Ship Inn, Portloe

This is a great pub! I was staying down the road in the Lugger hotel for a few days and visited this pub for dinner one night. Unfortunately the night I went they had a problem with their cooker so I didnt end up eating here, which was a real shame because the menu selection looked like really good traditional pub grub.
The dcor inside was of a nautical theme and had a nice cosy feel to the place. A good selection of beers was on offer and a good choice of bar snacks.
Overall this pub is worth a visit.

Running Horses, Erith

This pub is very much a regulars pub, I have been told a new landlord has taken it over and hope he can bring it back to its glory days of the early 90's when it had a fantastic carvary resturant upstairs.

The beer is ok and a good selection of snacks. Nice to sit outside in the summer.

The Pilot, Chiswick

I have read all the other comments, and I would agree the beer is over priced and I don't like the fact they don't sell peanuts. But you must remember this is not really a traditional pub but a gastro bar.

The Cross Keys, Hammersmith

Very good pub, friendly atmosphere, good selection of beers and bar snacks. Haven't tried the food but the bar menu looks good. The decor is nice and tidy.
