The Slug and Lettuce, Winchester

Is it just me or is everyone freakishly tall in here? Or am I just a short arse? Tall freaks apart its okay though needs more beer on tap, not just that John Smiths crap. And its expensive, and its stupid, actually I don't really like it.. at all..nope

The Guildhall Tavern, Winchester

Well done for ruining a pub that was getting interesting on a saturday night, particularly if the Outfit were playing. Now its like it used to be in the 80's but minus any people so not like it at all really, just empty.

The King Alfred, Winchester

As Borat said, I like. Cept for the children bit. keep them at home, its a pub. If you've decided on having kids you have to make something called sacrifices and this involves staying in alot i'm afraid-tough.

The Forester, Winchester

Closed. someone please open it again in the style of a normal pub like we use to have with sticky carpets, old blokes at the bar and stuff on the ceiling. It was overpriced and always had private parties on saturday nights. either that or turn it into luxury apartments for 200,000 that winchester doesn't need.

Greens Wine Bar, Winchester

I have a love-hate relationship with this place. I love it because it gives me somewhere to go after 11. I hate it because its a F*****N DEATH TRAP. Imagine a fire in there. you'd stand no chance of surviving that one. Burnt to a crisp then trampled to death by a load of rugger players. Scary. Always stand by the door or your raging paranoia will ruin your evening, trust me.

The Old Coach House Inn, Winchester

I really wish that people would understand that the toilets are the first thing to rectify in a pub. I will not go in here until they are made to look like someone has made half an effort on them. it is frankly disgusting to smell ten year old piss when i am in the bog. You charge enough for your beer, GET A MAN IN TO FIX THEM COS THEY STINK, and put your prices down

The Old Vine, Winchester

The vine outside is dying isn't it? rather like the inside. Looks like the living room display in Homebase and probably is. they could've at least steamed the layers of nicotine encrusted wallpaper off instead of just painting them. They could also do with steaming the atmosphere too, its a little faded.
Perhaps i'll start flogging beer in the Homebase display, see ya there saturday.

The Albion, Winchester

if you like free form jazz, a haze of fag smoke in your eyes because the windows don't open and the ventilation is nil, squeezing past fat blokes on stools who won't get out the way even when prompted by a polite 'excuse me fatso', who, by the way, can't help being IN the way because someone thought it would be a good idea to turn a cupboard into a pub, and an L-shaped cupboard at that(no its not bleedin well quirky) then by all means go for a pint. otherwise don't.

The Original Porthouse, Winchester

ahhh, Seasons Red Electric, The Porthouse, I remember my salad days... Actually i don't and thats because I was always drunker than a scotsman whos just won a fiver on the lottery and this is the best, and only way to enjoy this pub/club disguised as a blot on the landscape of decency. 250,000 spent on it apparently. Could have changed the carpets at least. Bulldoze it now and give us a break from even having to think about going here after 6 pints. 'oh go on, it'll be great' we say, NO IT BLOODY WELL WONT AND IT COSTS A FIVER. Go home before its too late
