Black Swan Hotel, Middleham

Had dinner and a couple of pints real ale here, after being unable to book a table in the White Swan. I am very glad we did eat here. The girls behind the bar were great and all the locals were very friendly. The Black Sheep ale and Old Peculiar were both great and our meals were served promptly and tasted great. Would recommend this pub as a great little local that welcomes visitors warmly.

Grog and Gruel, Fort William

The only good thing about this pub was the range of real ales on tap. The bar was overcrowded and cramped, the service was slow and the staff(when we were eventually served) were rude.
I love my ales but I would look elsewhere to drink them.

The Crofter Bar, Fort William

No real ales on tap, but the atmosphere in the pub was warm and inviting. The woman who showed us to our table was a bit over the top, however the tomato soup she brought out was to die for a d the open beef burger was fantastic. I would go back again for the food alone.
