White Horse, Ampfield

Good food, though a tad pricey. Great welcome - natives were very friendly. Lovely to sit by a log fire on a winter's evening and drink some well-kept Speckled Hen and Abbott.

The Basketmakers Arms, Brighton

Still an excellent pub for good quality beer - agree about the over-crowding and prices but it's the price of fame I guess. Fuller's is fine, but I still miss Gales BBB.

The Albion Inn, Brighton

No mick behind the bar - just miserable alan (not that he's ever actually behind it) - wise words from your friend

Royal Oak, Lewes

On our recent pub crawl to Lewes, we didn't bother going in here since it's now GK. Interesting that all the recent reviews are about food not beer.

The Gardeners Arms, Lewes

Quite a basic pub but you can't argue with its range of beers. I enjoyed some Sharp's Eden there and my mate had some Hepworth's Old - both excellent. It was a shame they shut at 11 or we might have had some more.

Lewes Arms, Lewes

Back to its best now that GK have departed. Great pints of OSB, HSB and Harvey's - busy, lively and cosy.

The White Star Inn, Lewes

This has reverted to its previous name - the Lansdowne - and seems to cater largely for a weird young crowd.

The Kings Head, Lewes

Friendly local clientele, good food at a reasonable price.
We enjoyed a fantastic pint of Harvey's. There was Hobgoblin too though we didn't try that.

The Brewers Arms, Lewes

A good choice of beers, well-kept. We enjoyed Hidden Pleasure and Sheepdog while visiting. Friendly people
