Chequers, Bromley Common

This is what i consider my "local" - living in birmingham at uni up there, but this is my favourite pub in brommers. Its expensive, which is the only downside i think - a pint of fosters is 2.50, and a magners is 3.55. However its made up by the locals who are there, always willing to talk to you in the evening. Its not usually bustling, but busy enough to make it feel loved. Currently renovating, half the pub at a time, so its quite small athe moment. IPA and abbots served when i went in.

The Richmal Crompton, Bromley

Okay - so its very busy, but at least it has atmosphere, and freshen up in the WC... get the drinks in early, and then have a good night, is my advice....

But dont come here expecting a lined route straight to the bar after 6pm on a friday night!!

TP's, Bromley

Okay - so some nights you may not get in - maybe its because its too busy, you have had 1 too many at your local, or sometimes, its because you dont haveany 34DD!!!
but at the end of the day, after for sum reason not wanting our custom, you do not want 4 old bill following you half way down the high street to pull a section 60 stop and search on you....there were swarms of old bill outside anyway, i reckon 15. (section 60 is the blades act, so its obviously after the poor soul got stabbed in the head that they have finally pulled some stops out and decided to make the pub at least slightly clean of blades)

but anyway - my mate went in there - 3 notes for a cider and black, which is far too much nearly a whole note went on the black currant - FAR TOO MUCH. for a better pub, go to Lloyds

massive pub...although whwhen i went they had only a limited selection of ales - had just ran out of speckled, had to settlee for a pint of pride. Good food for reasonably cheaper prices, in my opinion nicer than spoons, although a little more expensive. atmosphere a bit dead, but a nice pub to pop into for a quick pint on the way to brommers or croydon

The Harvest Moon, Orpington

Wetherspoons, so it cheaper than most other establishement, and has quite a few ales on tap - always a good sign. Got there at lunchtime, and there were few seats to be had, which i suppose is a good sign. Food is standard wetherspoons fare, which is cheap, and i suppose cheeful, although i did not have any on my last visit. However, beucase of the lack of music, it seems to lack a little something.

All in all, a good pub for a quick pint, and perhaps some food if you were starved for cash, but little else, no somewhere to spend a long time in...For that, head off to Bromley or Croydon

The Maxwell Hotel, Orpington

Went into here on an end of term do at school - Attempt to crawl to bromley. Pleasant atmosphere, although for a Friday afternoon seemed very very empty. Seemed like a group of teachers were sitting in 1 corner downing a few pints of ale - good stuff. 3 ales on tap, although 2 ran out when i was there, which was discracefull. Darts board and a pleasant outside seating area, where you can watch the world go by.
