Stock control seems to be an issue here. ALWAYS running out of beer or something on the menu. Blame is normally attached to the casino next door! When they have food and drink it is generally very good. Needs to get its act together.

Going in here a few times following recent hospital visits was like going back to the late 80s when all-day drinking first came in. The lights dimmed down in the lounge bar and a few regulars were happy to be booxing while everyone else was at work. Superb pint of Banks's and wide-ranging menu. Wish I lived nearer than 50 miles away.

Glad everyone on here seems to like this pub as much as I do. Thought it might go down the nick after Roly left but not a bit of it. Mark, Claire and Beth run a really great boozer. The varied clientele creates a great atmosphere, the beer is always superb, the food excellent and the service by the really friendly staff is also excellent. Looking forward to returning in February. I'm a fussy old sod when it comes to pubs but I'm giving it 10 out of 10.

Best service in Birmingham? You must be joking! Staff ONLY serve the customer standing directly in front of them whether or not others have been waiting for 10 minutes or more. There is also a very funy little man who has set up home in the gents' toilets who tries to wash your hands for you and welcomes you in with the words:"Welcome to my palace". I and many others I have spoken to find his presence very uncomfortable. Having said that the beer is excellent and the food pretty reasonable.
