The Halfway House, Dunstable

Average beefeater / table table place - whitbreads head office is here too, but you may not think it with the shabby final fit. if they arent refurbishing it of course.

Had spitfire and london pride on when we went, but stuipidly overpriced and the staff dont really know how to serve it properly. shame but at least it was drinkable.

The Harp, Covent Garden

ram packed on a saturday afternoon, but managed to get a seat up in the granny's boudior upstairs. Very funny! Good atmosphere up there though.

Despite the bar being busy we got served quickly and in a cheery way, we had 2 decent pints of hophead in here on our flying visit.

All round, worth a visit.

The Bree Louise, Euston

Dropped in Saturday night after an afternoon visiting the CASK & The Harp ( to see what all the fuss has been about) just in time to see the England France 6 nations match start.
Was impressed with lively atmosphere and friendly staff, big south african fella came over and asked us to ove our stuff so other people could get a seak, something which didn't occur to us at the time.. 3 or 4 pints in the afternoon does that to you!
The Bree Louise had a wonderful of selection of ales on, the 4 I had were all served promptly and drank nicely.
Tried a mid match the haggis pie - Piping hot and delicious! Cheese plate t followed nwith 3 cracking cheeses, the chilli red & stilton were amazing.
Having been in the other 2 pubs earlier in the day, I can say I enjoyed my time in this pub far more than the others. I wished i had arrived sooner as train times forced us to leave before the end of the rugby and there were still many more ales to try. . .
The other half was very taken with the tequila selection - this has fast become my favourite of london pubs and I will be looking for ANY excuse to return soon!

The California Inn, Luton

I love this place - brillaint welcoming atmosphere, and down to earth friendly staff - make it a great night out.

Excellently run, fun pub quiz on a tuesday.

My only criticism is that the draught beer in here in shocking. Considering its quite expensive, even for a gay bar & I've never ever had a decent pint:

fosters / carling /stella / kronenbourg/ occasionally hieneken / john smiths.
Its only the guinness thats worth a drink ( which is the only redeeming feature, probably to the fact that the owner is irish)

I wish they'd sort out the beer and I would be in SO much more!!
