The Punch Tavern, Fleet Street

The owners have no idea how to run a pub. Total shambles. Cheap staff = cheap hospitality.

Howl at the Moon, Hackney

Scary , electric , vibrant, earthy.
European lagers and loud music.

Good.

Belushi's, Borough

Good beer, service friendly but a bit aggressive for me. Cold cold lager was great and late night music was awesome.

Would I return? I think so as my work colleagues are regulars .

Cool trendy bar.

The Morden Arms, Greenwich

Firstly I would like to mention how nice the pub SHOULD be. Great location, great customers, great live music.

But.
Beer is awful, the cask is always sour, or cloudy and smelly. I'm sure the Truman brewers would be extremely insulted to see their beer sold in such a way.
Staff need to stop selling this slop. if they do not know how to handle cask then they should hire a cellar-man.
Drunken Irish landlord always on duty.
Tables never cleaned during service.
If you don't take your own glasses back to the bar they stay there for hours.

I really like this pub and have tried to really want to make it my local but its just too bloody dirty, glassware, tables bad beer. Please try and clean the linse once a week ,and have a little more thought for the customer.

Mary Janes, Aldgate

Fully agree with the other posters to a certain extent. But in its defence, it is a wonderful bar from 3 pm until 4 pm. Selfish of me I'm sure.

The Peacock, Tower Hill

No.No No

Walked into the main door only to have the landlord/staff shouting about how much money he has to three suits lapping up every word.
Beer choice excellent though so we stayed for a couple of beers.

Barked at when asked for the pub darts ? Why have the dart board if you dont want anyone to play?

So sat in the corner of this dark dingy pub. We left halfway through our second pint as the loud landlord was now shouting about being in the SAS or something and the talk was turning very racist which my colleague found extremely hurtful.

Nice range of beers, but cold cold dark pub and I imagine its a locals only BNP or EDL kind of place.

Ye Three Lords, Aldgate

Charming little bar with a downstairs basement for food. Not my cup of tea really. Beer was good but lacked atmosphere.

The Still and Star, Aldgate

Another good pub with fine ales. The area is turning to be quite a purple patch for good beers and great staff.

The outside area is very large whilst the bar is tiny. Not too sure how the pub copes with the winter but it sure does a good trade during the heated months.

The Oliver Conquest, Whitechapel

All good. This has to be the new home from home for me. Great beer, great food and a very nice and warm welcoming from all the staff.
This is beyond doubt the best pub in the area.

The Brown Bear, Whitechapel

Ok bar, great girls on shift. Beer was very good as was the atmosphere. One thing I was not to impressed was some of the clientèle.I was stared at by 2 groups from when I walked in to when I left after my 2nd pint.

Would I return? not too sure, but if I did I would have to bring a posse.

The Princess of Prussia, Tower Hill

A works drink up in here last Friday evening was eventful. Nice bar with kind staff.
The Spitfire was good.

Lost most of my memory between leaving and somehow making it home but I think on the whole a very nice pub with quite some going for it also.

The Minories, Tower Hill

Cheap yet loathsome. Dirty tables. A branded establishment that lives off the location but does not put enough staff on to keep the place actively sharp.
A bit like a bank at lunchtime , lots of customers but not enough staff.

Beer choice was ok, and sampling was good also. Food was worth the price, but the place lacked a floor manager watching and responding to customers.
