The Bree Louise, Euston

Just spent a couple of very pleasant evenings in this pub; was most impressed by the (8-10ish) beers being sold from the wood plus a few on hand pump. Also a pleasant organic lager. The food looked good although I didn't sample it. The only critisism is the staff; apart from one very friendly and helpful young female, the others I encountered were largely disinterested and knew little about the beers they were serving.

The Red Lion, Ossett

Ancient pub which has retained it's Olde Worlde feel. Serves locally brewed Red Lion ales plus guest beers and the usual John Smiths. Gets quite busy most evenings. Great little pub spoilt only by the smoky atmosphere which will doubtless improve when the Governments smoking legislation takes hold.

Henry Boons, Wakefield

I reviewed this pub in Feb 05 and gave it a slating for the beer. However after contact by another user of this website I have recently visited a few times and must say that the experience has only been positive. Beautiful Clarks beer, friendly staff, in all a top pub!

The Redoubt, Wakefield

Beautiful beer served in a traditional pub which has the added attraction of being steeped in Rugby League memorabilia. Well worth a visit.

White Hart, Wakefield

Let down by surly staff who are more interested in sending text messages than serving customers. Otherwise would be a great pub with real ale and a large marquee area at the back complete with big screen. Regular live Rugby League matches shown on big screen and other TV's in the various areas of the pub.

Henry Boons, Wakefield

This could be such a fine pub - large concert room, live music, busy location, real ale from the adjacent Boons brewery. Unfortunately let down by the way the beer is kept - Boons make some beautiful beers but they can taste disgusting in here.
