The Waverley, Edinburgh

Being my first time in Edinburgh drinking properly I sampled this one at the end of the day around 10 pm and was not disappointed. It was my favourite of the session with it's 30s or 40s music, proper beer mugs, old fashioned landlord and a nice photo of the queen behind the bar.

The West Brewing Company, Glasgow

Nice fresh beer, german food, good value. However the time I went it was practically empty, so not sure if the atmosphere is up to scratch.

The Beer Cafe, Glasgow

Staff a little rude, beer quite expensive. Not really a real drinkers bar due to the suited clientele who seems a little effeminate (drinking peach snaps ???)

Camperdown Place, Glasgow

Used to be a gay bar that's all I know apart from that it looks rather fancy, not one for the hard drinkers/cigar smokers (pre-ban) I think.

Counting House, Glasgow

Cheap pints, but rather soulless, no sense of atmosphere exists, prententious types are usually present and women with children are allowed in (I thought the boozer was the working man/real drinkers domain?.

The Press Bar, Glasgow

Great conversation, atmosphere and drink. Traditional bar for real drinkers.
