little off the beaten track but as a result not too crowded and so a decent place to relax
Nice beer, nice whisky and the staff were friendly
Far better than most of the places nearby if you find yourself waiting for a train at Victoria

Nice place, bit over priced but the beer and food are both good. Staff are generally friendly, though given the amount of young couples who seem go there for dinner you can sometimes be left waiting for your pint while tabs are cleared and wine is discussed/tasted....more a complaint about fellow patrons than the staff though to be fair

pop in here now and then, it's normally good enough for a few jars and maybe catch a game or the live music but last time I was there the place reeked of vomit - truly rank and runied what would have otherwise been a pleasant stay

Nice enough place, attracts a bit of the hoo rah Henry brigade but then we are talking Putney so no great surprises there.
Nice beers on offer and the staff have always been friendly when I've been in, but then they probably have to be to avoid any "scenes" when they ask everyone to move inside so as not to offend the neighbours.
My only gripe is that given the crowd the place attracts I don't really see why people can't stay in the garden with their drinks - ok so maybe the odd social mountineer's braying laugh might get annoying if you live next door but it's not like we're talking about a rowdy place at all so perhaps on a weekend people could be allowed to stay outside and enjoy a warm summer evening....just a thought.
Still, in the meantime definitley a nice place to meet friends and kick off an evening out with some banter and nice beers....plenty of other places to move onto once the outside area closes down after all

Found this place several years ago now and though it was fantastic, in terms of food and the atmosphere.
Recently returned and while it still had a nice feel the quality of the food has definitly gone downhill. Still pleasant but I got the impression that the meals weren't made using really good/fresh ingredients.
I admit that perhaps I had high expectations from my previous visits but sadly left thinking it wasn't as good as it used to be, I'd be interested to know if maybe there's been a change of management or chef etc.
Worth a look if you happen to be passing but I don't think I'll be recommending this place as highly as I used to

Great place, cool staff and fantastic beers. Cannot recommend this place enough - especially when compared to some of the other bars in the area...now if only they finished at 2am....

The Cask and Glass, Victoria
Cool little pub, staff are friendly and the beer is good - nice to get away from the maddening crowd
