The Earl Beatty, Motspur Park

Went there early Saturday evening for a quick drink...waited ages to be served as the staff served others who walked up to the bar and when eventually served was then informed that only two ales were on despite three pump badges being shown. The 4th hand pump was not in use.
The early promise of the recent refurbishment seems to have waned already with poor staff training and poor beer stocking. Shame...

The Wheatsheaf, Ewell

A great little traditional local that serves 4 well kept local cask ales, plus a good selection of keg beers. The garden is a great little sun trap, with I understand, more improvements on the way. The pub also lays on charity events such as the occasional quiz and music event, has tv sports and caters for private functions...you may also bump into the local Morris Men on occasion! A little off the beaten track but a great local.

The Kings Arms, Winkleigh

Now open again with new tenants doing a great job at reviving this village local. Good beers and team. Sunday lunch time busy with food being served. Worth a visit.

The William Bray , Shere Guildford Surrey

Expensive drinks and economical food portions! Having paid a small fortune for a couple of drinks we sat down for our roast dinner, which likewise was not cheap. We then had to ask for the roast potatoes as they had not been served only to find that we had two small ones each...so we asked for some more only to be told that "two is the allocation, otherwise we might run out tonight!" Call that a chef and a kitchen that cannot knock up a few roast spuds before the evening session!
Overall impression...over priced and over rated for a few bits of racing memorabilia on the walls...will not be rushing back.

The Wheatsheaf, Ewell

A great small local pub with a fine, if limited, selection of well kept cask ales, (usually Youngs Ordinary, Bombardier plus a guest beer) plus the usual selection of keg beers. A good friendly atmosphere. The new landlord and owners are doing a great job and the decor is getting some TLC., Plus a few events are happening, along with the occassional visit from the Morris Men. A bit off the main track but worth a visit.
