Gardeners Arms, Norwich

Also known as the 'Murderers', this is an excellent real ale pub. We really enjoyed our pint of murderers beer. The choice of beers was good and the staff friendly. We didn't actually eat here because they had just stopped serving food (at 5pm), but other people seemed to finishing off (and enjoying) large plates of food.

Bell Hotel, Norwich

Typical Wetherspoons. Decent food served promptly and courteously. The real ale was very pleasant and a good price. It would have been nice if it had a little more atmosphere.

The New Inn, Hornsea

This pub has been painted and is now called 'The New Inn' - apparently its original name. Went in to check it out. Looked tidy and bar staff were friendly but they have removed the only hand pump - DOH!. I decided not to stay as I don't like 'fizzy' beer, but if you don't mind it, pub looks OK.

Ye Olde White Harte, Hull

If you have an interest in local history, pop in this pub. The staff will be happy to explain why if they are not rushed off their feet! Good beer and sensible prices. There is even a skull on display that was found during alterations.
The staff and clientel are friendly. As 'hyperdriver' said I always pop in when I go into town.

The Minerva Hotel, Hull

Comfy relaxed pub with well kept real ale. Even has a theatre room. In my opinion this is one of the best pubs in Hull. It's not trendy, just traditional. Never eaten there so can't review the food.

Durty Nelly's, Hull

Good selection of ales. Wonder if the on-site brewery will ever be used to brew?
Staff very friendly.

Blue Bell Inn, Old Ellerby

I really want to try these ales, but the pub is never open when I try to go there. Doh!

Marine Hotel, Hornsea

This pub was refurbished and looks much better. The bar staff are great. The food is a sensible price, unfortunately it can vary between fantastic and burnt to a crisp (although usually good). The beer (specially 'guest ale') is overpriced for the area and quality of establishment. I am happy to pay these prices if the pub merits the cost but this is a Wetherspoons clone!
The rmain eason for low score is the poor customer service skills of the manager. She seems to have good business sense, but is perhaps not front of house material.
