Spacious pub - a good resource in the area.

The Landlord beer was well kept and very nice.
Barmaid kept apologising about the prices though! �1 for a small packet of kettle chips.
A tiny pub, could be cosy or uncomfortable, depending on the numbers. Very low sofas, but wide-bum bar stools.

one of the few pubs in the area (other than the Wetherspoons) that was doing food on a Saturday afternoon - shame though that the ribs were dried up and virtually inedible). Upstairs bar was closed - no sign to say why. Beer was ok. Wouldn't go again.

The Sir John Oldcastle, Farringdon
I couldn't believe how crowded this was at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon! Good reason though - cheaper beer and a wide selection. I didn't stay long enough for the usual problem of a Wetherspoons - the beer I like runs out. A good pub to drop in for a couple of drinks and a meal.
