The Pig and Whistle, East Sheen

Disappointing place. Only go there if you want somewhere to watch Sky Sports and have a swear rather than doing so in your front room. Had two drinks and both times given wrong change (Got charged 8 for one pint and the barmaid blamed the till - er...) Will go back but only to watch football with other fans rather than for the service or beer as there is no other pub that does so in the area.

The Mitre, Richmond

This is a real pub with real regulars. Off the beaten track a bit but a good spot if you want a quiet pint. Would have loved a bigger selection of beers but a friendly welcome and a good place to start a pub crawl if you are going to Twickers/Richmond. Hard to find "normal" pubs like this.

The White Horse, Parsons Green

Brilliant beer, brilliant food (even on a Chelsea matchday the service was great). This is how a pub should be.

The Roebuck, Richmond Hill

Ale was good but food was awful. Feels a bit too big although the bar staff are freindly.
You come here for the views really but just don't count on any decent grub - all cooked from frozen.

The Boaters Inn, Kingston Upon Thames

Nice hidden gem of a place with wonderful views of the Thames - inside a park too so if you are with kids they can blow off steam in the playground... like it but better on sunny days rather than the usual English weather!
Lots of different ales on display and every table was taken when we went there on Sunday.

The Smugglers, Milford on Sea

Was recommended this pub by the hotel we stayed in.
Not much choice in terms of beer and the usual Becks Vier on tap.
Food was not much better than what you get from a roadside service station.
Staff were very friendly and the children's play area was useful - shame the lovely garden and stream only has a view of the carpark!

The Lass O'Richmond Hill, Richmond

Not a beardy real ale drinkers kind of pub but plenty of choice of ales on the taps.
Not sure if it was just because it is Winter but it is very pleasant inside - a nice warm fire and I found the service to be excellent.
Food was very impressive for what is essentially a gastropub but as previous comments have mentioned maybe a bit too pricey... Came to 70 for 2 with no wine or dessert (just 4 beers) but still is a place I will return to.
Very nice part of town to go for a walk afterwards too with Richmond Park and stunning views from Richmond Hill nearby.

The Plough, East Sheen

Don't quite understand the antipathy towards this pub.
I just moved into the area and it is perfectly suited to the clientele... East Sheen is a family suburb and this pub has exactly what you need... friendly (if sometimes overly familiar) staff, decent grub and ok beer.
It is certainly not the kind of place to find a bearded real ale drinker but it does have a lovely villagey feel to it even though we are in the suburbs of London.
Compared to many of its peers in the area it is a decent pub... only annoyance is the amount of seats that seem to be reserved for hours before anyone turns up.
