Market Tavern, Durham

Depressing overpriced dive, like most of the olde englishe pubes in durham.

The Chicago Rock Cafe, Chester Le Street

It's about as rock & roll as the sugarbabes. We did a battle of the bands there once and a woman basically doing kareoke over a backing track to some celine dionne song took first prize over all the BANDS that entered.

The Colpitts Hotel, Durham

I'm not trying to be controversial or insult any of the regulars who drink there and enjoy it but it has a bit of a reputation among the locals of being a bit of a gay bar.. To be honest, it is a bit of a sausage fest, with a poor female to male ratio.. The pool table is in a seperate room though so you can hide in there if you want. I'm not comfortable with the general atmosphere though so I've only been twice.. Which is a shame 'cos the beer's nice.

The Walkabout, Durham

When the walkabout opened it had friendly staff and was a good place to have a couple of pints. Now it seems that they only employ humourless robots who seem to be permanently in a bad mood. Still a cheap place to start a days binge though. Double vodka & redbull only 3

Angel Inn, Durham

The Angel's recently had a lick of paint and the toilets have now got a suit of armour. But it's still the same old Angel. It's now got 3 plasma tellys and you can get a tasty toasty too. One thing I did notice yesterday though was that you now only get 4 songs for your quid on the jukebox!! Robbing bastards(!)
New pool table and it's got its music licence back on a thursday night too!!
Still my favourite pub in the whole wide world though!
