The Walmer Castle, Kemptown

Went in on a Saturday night in January and we were the only people in there apart from the barlady and her friend. Can't believe this pub has gone downhill so much.
Dark, dirty (I was told the bins in the ladies were full past the brim), cold, and the first view upon entering was some garden furniture shoved behind the door. Felt more like drinking in a squat, and the poor goldfish in their dirty tanks are unlikely to be around for much longer either. Shocking

The Geese Have Gone Over The Water, Brighton

Now under new ownership
New owner likes Guinness. Pub is now painted black at the bottom and white at the top (see what he did there). There is a Guinness sign outside, and the pub name is gold writing on a black background (as per the sign)
There are 4 Guinness pumps
Did I mention Guinness?
Very good pub to watch rugby in. Had Tanglefoot and Harveys (both well kept and served) during the recent internationals, and lots of Guinness.
Good food too
Friendly place
Lots of Guinness

The George and Dragon Inn, Chichester

Food looked good but was overpriced. Unfortunately, though, that seems to be fairly standard for Chichester alas. Didn't eat as roasts had run out and didn't want to pay 8 for sausage and mash. Good pint, though.

The Horse and Groom, Brighton

Why bother coming here, when there are much much better pubs practically next door? The Horse & Gloom is probably only recommended if the other nearby pubs are too young and trendy for you and you'd prefer a miserable, dark place instead. Mind you, I've always had a good pint when I have ventured in there.

The Constant Service, Brighton

Good, friendly local in a great area for pubs.
