The Walkabout, Embankment

most of the reviews for this are out date...

i was there last night...

we had a massif crowd about 30 people...so not much mingling with the neutrals... generally the punters was friendly...the bar staff was friendly...funny and efficient...no probs with bouncers...it seemed that they were almost not there...

Music was alright...Dj did play a wide range of music....to suit everyones needs

had a moment where posh snobby gits were being dikheads... a girl behind was dancing with her man...she kept bumping into me...doing it on purpose...then she waved me to go away shooo shooo...i was liek U WOT? her bloke looked away....he werent gettin involved...chicken shit.... then she made a L sign and called me a looser....haha yea right wat ever darling.... i werent moving...

then a random weird thing happened... bouncer came n gave me a chair...lol weird....sorry m8 im str8!!

Elbowroom, Islington

bar staff did hav attitude...

music was whack....dj didnt know whathe was doing and looked like a 12 year old...

its like 3 quid to get in...there was some rough characters in there...and i cud smell weed on the dancefloor...not my idea of a goodnight out... why smoke weed on the dancefloor where theres hardly any oxigen anyway...plonker!

alot of students come here...met some real cuties..

drinks were pricey...

bouncers got attitude too...

The Redback, Acton

some aussies girls brought me there oneday..was a sunday... they had a Barbicue out in the backgarden...which was free :O

i didnt eat it so..cant tell u how it tasted...

once it got dark...everyone was inside...the music would switch from DJ to Band...every hour i think...

there was so good lookin girls there (which is usual...Ozzie, Kiwi n safa girls usually are)

its not as messy as The Walkabout in Shepherds bush... but i did get a few knocks...which spillt some drinks.. aslong as u dont mind about the safety of ur outfit...

bouncers were fine...friendly firm and fair...

rate 7.10

The Spotted Dog, Willesden Green

the spotted dog (club not the pub)

was not my cup of tea... live band on stage...alot of backpackers...Ozzies, Kiwi's n safas...

i was with a bunch of Ozzie girls...it was alright but i felt a lil out of place..due to the choice of music.. haha 2 guys got chucked out the back door for jumping around like nutters (e.g. mosh pit) no boys thats not the way to dance...

but i liked this place just cuz at the front the bouncers were funny...and the girl in the cloak room was a rite tease...her tight jeans were so low i cud see her bum...i told her to lift it up..she did a tiny bit...

but thats how the ozzies are...luv it...friendly...mad...cool atmosphere///

Big Red, Holloway

nice lil pub...my uncle den goes here all the time... being a geordie...hes naturally a joker...so u'll proberlly bump into him..

its a sorta rock/sporty pub... about 4 pool tables at the back... quite big pub overall...

wehad to share the loo with the ladies...which was kinda weird..but must only be for short term..

all the staff were female..which i found pleasing (not being sexist) they seemed like a nice bunch of girls..

ordered a spagetti bolognese with meat balls... that went down well with my 6 stella's and 6 JD n orange...

mmmm

only bad point was that the music was repetative...no modern stuff...

but hey...i went on a sunday night...so...ill have to get down there on Fri/Sat...apparantly its lively...

Ha Ha Bar and Canteen, Muswell Hill

dont know the price of the drinks...we were having jugs of cocktails... 13 for a jug of JackDaniels & Apple juice (so hard to find!!! most pub dont do it!)

the barmaid was gorjus... n very friendly :)

speaking of which so was the baldy bouncer...said hello and good bye...

felt like i stuck our like a sore thumb...most of the punters were commercial/buisness...all dressed in suits...but me n my mates didnt let that bother us...

i do agree it too ages to be served...the bar is quite small and theres more staff looking after customers who are sat down eating than the ones standing at the bar...

gave the girl a tip jus cuz she looked so cute..she did take ages to make the jug cocktail...but i wasnt complained..i enjoyed the view...altho my mates werent too happy waiting patiently...

nice lil cosey atmosphere tho...so i give it a 6/10

The Quays, Holloway

it was alrite... crowd was fun...alot of dancin..but that night ireland won in the rugby...!

i went with a group.. 5 girls and 4 boys....

everything seemed cool...well...errm cant really remember...lol...not a good comment aye?

a lil fight broke out with the youths across the road...

errm theres like 3 bars.. 1 downstairs 2 up... 3 seperate rooms...and on 2nd floor u can look down from the balcony and watch the band on staff or directly down on the dance floor...

The Glass Works, Angel, Islington

Was my first time last friday in this place....i prefer Angel to the west end (oxford street, soho, leicester square, covent garden)

due to it being closer to home, being cheaper...and has more class...people are generally more friendlyand out for a laugh...than the snobby ppl in the west.

the Glassworks was great,i didnt know anyone..they was no rough characters...unlike ELbow rooms!... the girls looked gorjus...drinks were cheap..toilets were big and clean...the staff where very fast..the size of the pub is reasonable..could hold roughly 200 im guessing... i didnt experience anything with the bouncers...just walked in...dress code?? (i wore casual..jeans/tshirt/boots+fur coat :P)(thats the way it shud be...bouncers task is to keep the peace n be friendly..i hate bouncers with attitude..also

most of the people i met were students..

and on top of all that...there was this lil dood 5ft...and he was dancing for ages..mostly on his own..he danced like a kid...it was so funny... and people joined in and copied his moves...he didnt take that as an offence...and everyone had a laugh.. no trouble...

so i rate this pub 10/10....

visit here with ur mates if u want a good drink up...!
