The Lord Raglan, Nangreaves

After a bone rattling journey up the cobbled road to get there the beer and food made it worth the visit. A great selection of ales from the Leyden Brewery with something for everyone. The food was superb as well and only the queue at the bar stopped the pub getting a 10!

The Red Rooster, Brighouse

Had heard good things about this place so popped in on the way to the Rugby League Test Match in Huddersfield. 8 real ales and both that were sampled were in excellent condition. Pub is kept clean and tidy and has an interesting collection of signed prints on offer. Will definitely go back.

The Crown Inn, Stockport

Without a doubt, the finest choice of real ales in the area. The pub is undergoing something of a transformation and will soon be unrecognisable from the somewhat scruffy previous incarnation. Do yourself a favour and get down there (now open every lunch time as well!).

The Gribble Inn, Oving

Visited on Saturday night for the second time (first time dining). The Steak & Kidney pudding is a must and having tried four of the ales, Reg's Tipple was my favourite. Can't understand why anyone would knock this place as it's a gem. They even ban mobile phones!

The Travellers Rest, Pogmoor

A warm welcome from landlord and ex footballer Terry followed by some excellent beer (Bomber & Good Elf). Would definitely return if in the area again.

Worth seeking out. A very enjoyable place to visit and the Crown IPA is highly recommended

Fanny's Ale And Cider House, Saltaire

Always a favourite and worth travelling a long way to visit. If you like real ale this is the place to go!
