The Goose On The Green, Catford

It does what it says on the tin. Not one to impress your girlfriend tho!

The Rising Sun, Catford

Good riddence. A criminal drug den. Well done to The Council for fighting the good fight. Blimey it was a rough house in the 70's but what followed was shameful.

The Hare and Billet, Blackheath

Best pub in Blackheath by a country mile.

It's the last man standing in the Chav War of Blackheath. Gobby 20-something plumbers seem to find the walk across the grass a walk too far.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

The Plough and Harrow, Catford

A proper little SE London pub, but very tatty. The punters will be knackered when the smoking ban comes in tho! Seems to be an ideal stop on the way to the social security office..

The Princess of Wales, Blackheath

Lost its way big time. Should and could be the best of the heath. Dirty. Okay if you fancy sitting on the heath in the sun.

The Watch House, Lewisham

A decent wetherspoons for the afternoon oldies and idlers. Deserves credit for catering for them. Okay, but not a pub to bother with in the evening. Cheap as chips mind.

The Fox and Firkin, Lewisham

Could do better to capture it's old favourite tag. Tired.

O'Neills, Blackheath

Worth only a quick stop on a pub crawl of the heath. It's what I'd call a fake pub. The McDonalds of the pub game.

The Crown, Blackheath

Gets away with murder because of it's position in Blackheath. Worth going to in the afternoon, but forget the evening, you'll sober up before being served.

The Railway, Blackheath

A top class old pub that was ruined by the money men years ago. AVOID!

The Dacre Arms, Lee

Classy little pub, very popular with the middle class brigade. A good place to avoid the chavs who have invaded the heath.

The Woodman, Lee

Still a good local, but losing it's way a little as the manager is selling up. Deserves credit for the live music, and the punters are decent folk. Good place to watch big football matches on the big screen. Nice place for a friday evening booze.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Lee

Taken over from the Woodman as the best pub in Lee. Friendly staff and punters. Highly recomended.

The Edmund Halley, Lee

The worst Wetherspoons ever. The customer care can be summed up by the fact the toilets are up loads of stairs and along a corridor. Possibly the furthest I've ever had to climb for a pee. Too small, poor beer, poor service, dirty, the list is endless. Cheap - but then again so is staying at home.

The New Tigers Head, Lee

A failing pub finally closed. Couldn't keep pace with Wetherspoons cheap prices at the Crap 'Edmund Halley'. . Shame Wetherspoons couldnt move the Halley into it. People wouldn't have to put up with a a three mile hike into the sky for a pish!

22 Apr 2007 15:38

The Tigers Head, Bellingham

A disgraceful action by Wetherspoons. They even tried to keep the closure a secret, pretending the pub was being refurbished. That's the thanks the old regulars and pensioners got from Tim Martin's mob. So much for Wetherspoons customer care!!!!

22 Apr 2007 15:34

The Bell Inn, Watchet

Good pub, but could be even better, for the reasons mentioned above.

22 Apr 2007 15:18

The Anchor Inn, Watchet

Down to earth, but friendly mob of working class boozers.

22 Apr 2007 15:11

The Star Inn, Watchet

The best pub for visitors. Very nice decor, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. The fish and chips are great on a Friday.
