White Horse Hotel, Rottingdean

beer very poorly kept, badly trained staff. nice view from the terrace out back though, but do yourself a favour and get yourself a pint at the coach house next door and drink that there instead.

The Duke Of Wellington, Hackney

a cracking boozer for the footy. high-def projector in the back, great atmosphere and the wandle was lovely. would highly recommend.

The Beachy Head, Eastbourne

the reviews of this place seem a bit harsh. yes, it's a bit dark in there, but it is romantically-lit in some places, and brilliantly lit nearer the windows. it's always going to seem dark, coming in from outside there. fish and chips was the biggest fish i've ever seen. beer was okay, chips were nice. service bit too slow, and this wasn't a busy day. but there are places to eat and drink outside if you don't like it in. better than people are saying.

The Duke of York, Borough

the two drawbacks were that a lot of the beers were off, and it was quite expensive. otheriwise, it's one of the nicest pubs i've been in. beutifully decorated and lit, just a really nice place to spend an evening. complete with board games. a real must-try.

The Prince Of Wales, Southwark

not sure why this pub is rated so highly. it has an interesting atmos. clientele seems to be old locals and students, which is good. their jukebox was playing qualla tunes all night, but i guess that depends on who's in charge. comfy chairs and nice layout, but lighting wasn't great and beer selection very poor.

The Sports Cafe, Haymarket

went here last night only because couldn't think of anywhere else that would show an FA cup 1st round replay. Had forgotten what a horrible place it is. Disgustingbeer, plastic cups, uncomfortable chairs, Inedible food, over-priced, unpleasant atmosphere. As soon as half time came, we left. Avoid at all costs.

The Hand In Hand, Brighton

superb place. visited last sunday evening, when there was some light jazz on offer. well lit, warm, cosy, excellent home-brewed beer (didn't try food). small, but if you get a table, you're set for a very comfortable evening. far superior to the evening star. a real treat and a find.

The Leicester Arms, Piccadilly Circus

not a terrible boozer. cheesy music could be removed. youngs served nice and warm, but left with a nasty perfume taste in the mouth.

The Glassblower, Piccadilly

horrible BO smell. and little character to overcome this.

The Daniel Gooch, Bayswater

decent place to go for football. got a big screen and plenty of seats. has black sheep on tap, which gives it a boost. staff are friendly. clientele nice enough, often made up of footballers who have finished playing at the sports centre just down the road. right next to the tube station. not bad, not bad at all.

The Worlds End, Brighton

i was surprised to find that this pub wasn't registered. i went there to watch football on a sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. don't be put off by the unassuming exterior - it's a very nice place to find yourself on a lazy weekend. quiet area, decent screens, ale, interesting furniture, board games, good menu, friendly staff. recommended.

The King Charles I, Kings Cross

i went here last night as a place to go before a gig at scala. it doesn't take many people before there is nowhere to sit. all in all not bad tho. nice choice of ales and olde-worlde pub games give it a pleasant touch.
