O'Neills, Euston Road

This place has a charm...even though it's a chain-pub, even though it's on the main thoroughfare, and even though it's so close to the main train stations. That being said, this charm brought the wife and I back several times. The food is great (top notch Irish BBQ Burgers), the staff is quite charming, and the quite a few real ales to chose from. Not to mention the colorful regulars at rush hour. Excellent...

The Doric Arch, Euston

Excellent food...right out of the gate. Great selection of Fullers real ales, and some decent ciders I don't usually see. Cracking atmosphere on the night I was there. Thanks to The Rocket not allowing us in (see other review) I happily spent my pounds at this place and made a new discovery! I'll be back...

The Museum Tavern, Bloomsbury

Had lunch and Ales/Ciders here after a trip to the British Museum. Quite surprised by the food, too! we thought the place was gonna be a touristy pastiche due to it's proximity, but NOT. Really good ales on tap, Wife loved her lunch as did I. Our daughter's favorite pub, now.

The Barley Mow, Mayfair

Took the Wife shopping on our London visit (Bond Street) with the expressed deal that we also get a drink or two afterwards. Found this place by accident (proximity) and LOVED IT! Freindly folks behind the bar, a few real ales and some good ciders, decent pub grub. Lots of suits and business people meeting after work, but the atmosphere was quite jubilant. Again, the staff WERE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL despite the reviews I have read.

The Rocket, Euston

What a joke...went to pubs all over London. Never been asked to leave before I could even purchase anything! EVER!
Went in for an early dinner with the family (17:00) and was told "no children allowed" by the large bouncer bloke. Despite seeing another table finishing up, just paying their bill, and leave with their young one. When I inquired as to why, he simply said it was an "owners rule". Bullshit. Went across the street and spent a 100 pounds ELSEWHERE. After reading further reviews, I am glad that I did.

The Euston Flyer, Euston

We popped in here a few times during our London visit, mostly due to the good food & also the Fullers selection. Nice big tele's to watch sport on as well...caught an Arsenal game there and it was quite a festive place! Friendly & helpful barstaff, fun patrons. though it is located on the main drag, it still has a decent charm to it.

McGlynns, Kings Cross

This was my local pub for my 10 days in London (HOTEL WAS RIGHT DOWN THE STREET), and I popped in on quite a few occasions. Friendly staff, nice cheery locals, and great pubfood. A couple of real ales on tap, and some decent selections of lager & ciders.
However, the place has such a distinctive character and such a warm vibe, that I find myself missing it now that I am back in the States. Definitely my favorite pub off of the beaten Euston path. I'll be back!
