The Duke of Cambridge, Islington

Great atmosphere, service and food.
The ales were well kept and the staff actually knew a thing or two about them! My wife enjoyed her wine and was impressed with the staff offering her to try a few. Price wise we found it less expensive than other pubs in the same area.
On the down side the loo's were only accessible via very steep stairs.
I have to congratulate the Duke of Cambridge on a job well done, I look forward to returning soon.

THIS PUB COULD BE AMAZING. BUT ALAS IT FAILS TO EVEN REALISE ITS POTENTIAL. ITS THE KIND OF PLACE WHERE THE CUSTOMERS SEEM TO SPEND MORE TIME IN THE TOILETS THAN THE BAR.

HOW A PUB SHOULD BE.

Every thing I loath about London thrives here. Thank you for keeping all these pretentious wannabes in one place.
Seriously, Thank you x

The Charles Lamb, Angel, Islington

I find this place overrated. It feels more like a pokey bed and breakfast than a pub. The limited menu was better than average but the service was less so. A good pub for an alfresco pint but that's about it

The Spurstowe Arms, Hackney

The incompetent, arrogant staff here are a breath of fresh air in a world of professional, friendly and attentive caterers that seem to fill all other pubs with abundance.

This place is very special. You will have never seen most of the beers before but the friendly staff are happy to let you try them. The food was delicious and the service exceptional. Surely this is the future of the British pub industry.
