The Cheshire Cheese Hotel, Buxton

Home-cooked food at a decent price. Children`s area away from drinkers area. Strange taste in background music but seemed to be used by strangers and locals in numbers.

Manifold Inn, Buxton

This pub is about 10 miles from Buxton, doesn`t anyone check these things before putting them on the site?

Carnarvon Arms, Teversal

This place calls itself a "Country Pub and Kitchen", why kitchen? I don`t want to eat and drink in somebody`s kitchen! And a country pub it most certainly is NOT! I wandered in after a walk nearby and stood out like a sore thumb - suits and cocktail dresses seemed to be the norm. No-one was eating and only half-pints and fruit-juices were being drunk. Unless you are a poser avoid this pretentious palace.

Rutland Arms, Bottesford

Nice clean pub at lunchtime. Good pub-grub too, home-made and enough of it at the right price. A good butchers nearby.

The Crispin, Great Longstone

A very friendly pub, four of us were made to feel like locals. Good atmosphere, good food at good prices.

The Unicorn Hotel, Gunthorpe

Very slow service, no-one came to our table, we had to go to the bar to ask for anything, food or drinks. Overpriced food below standard and not a lot of it.
