The Devonshire Arms, Camden

I prefered this place when I went sometime this Spring to circa 2003 when the guy behind the bar, who looked like Herman Munster kept staring at me whilst the best of Bauhaus meandered on in the background.

A pretty decent place to stop off for quick pint or two before a gig at the Underworld. Anything rather than the mind numbing tedium of the Worlds End..

The Worlds End, Camden

A , to be honest, pretty dull pub with overexpensive beer. Maybe worth it for a quick pint before a band underneath at the Underworld when its livened up a bit.

Then again the Dev down the road is a lot better than it used to be..

General Wolf, Coventry

I used to love this pub. I'm guessing sometime between the mid to late 90s. Good jukebox, live bands in the back. Then the landlord changed after which it didn't last long, was sut down for refurbishment for ages, opened with the decor nearly exactly the same but the actual pub was much, much worse. Doesn't seem to have recovered since.

A crying shame.

The Costermonger, Birmingham

Haven't been here much since the refurbishment myself. I discovered Scruffies at around the same time. Only been going to Brum for about 5 years previous to that...

The Worlds End, Camden

The best thing about this place is The Underworld for gigs underneath..I actually think the beers cheaper downstairs....normally just pop in before a gig there for a pint but its expensive and frankly not all that.

The Intrepid Fox, St Giles

Whilst I prefer the old place, this is nice and handy for pre gig drinks, fairly decent priced for the centre of London and the music is ok..although I maintain a jukebox instead of the bar staff putting whatever bizarre choices they want on, would be better.

The Golden Cross, Coventry

I'm sure 'Bolshevikboozer' can find plenty of other places in Coventry where he can avoid the 'societal goth student chimp retards'. Meanwhile, its one of the few places in Cov catering to the non Townie brigade. Sure, it ain't without his faults but I enjoy it.

Sue me.

Browns Cafe Bar, Coventry

The kind of place patronising students go to read poetry. And yes, the door men have a strange door policy letting in who they feel like. Apparently if you don't look 'alternative' they won't let you in. But thats hardly a guarantee either. Still, you won't be missing much.
