Mojo's Bar, Tonbridge

Complete and utter pikey palace, avoid at all costs.

The Castle Hotel, Tonbridge

Who owns this place, do they have so much money that they can afford to run it as a drop in center for the Jeremy Kyle set?

It's got one of the best locations in town, bang in the middle of the high street, opposite the castle and on the river with a terrace. It could be an attractive purpose built victorian public house. What is it instead? A run down dump of a building with moss and pigeon shite all over the roof, an interior designed by the same guy that does north sea truck ferries and a small and bad selection of beer.

Please please please, sell this place to somebody that can actually do something with it, redecorate it as a pub with chairs and tables, y'know to sit at, and get rid of the pool table and fruit machines. Until this happens, just stay away from this dump.

The Falkland Arms, Great Tew

Stayed in Great Tew this december with friends (not at the pub) and visited the pub for lunch and drinks. Well it was my first visit but i thought it was great. The table we had was for 9 people, the welcome was genuine even though we weren't locals in what is a very tiny village. Food was perfectly decent and it all arrived at the same time, something other pubs might like to work on, i'll forgive the slightly inflated price as it's well worth paying to keep a pub like this in business. The selection of ale was good, the 6X was in perfect condition and we stayed for a good few hours soaking up the atmosphere with plenty of beer. Would make a point of going back if i'm ever in the area again. Keep up the good work.

The City Pride, Isle of Dogs

Shut for redevelopment into skyscraper from the 25th March 2012. I recommend the George nr Crossharbour DLR instead.

The Surbiton Flyer, Surbiton

Great pub after work but it is pricey! Food is really tasty, i've always found the Pride well kept.

The Victoria, Surbiton

Bit untidy considering it's location and nearby competition. One of those sticky floors and in need of a wipe tables kind of places. On the upside the beer is well kept with a good selection from Young's and the younger bar staff always seem chirpy. Just take a bit more care keeping the place clean during opening hours, would really make a difference.

Duke of York, Surbiton

Seems to be more gastro pub than casual boozer. Service was very good although they can be a little too keen to get you a table and add service to bringing the drinks over. That aside it was a nice pleasant place with 2 or 3 ales on draught. Food was very good. Lighting is very dim and trendy though, not a pub for reading the paper. :)

Bootys, Limehouse

The White Hart, South Harting

Ok, I haven't eaten here so can't comment on the food. Visited friends that live in the village and heard rumours that the new guy was putting off the locals. The basis of this seems to be that he had a shaved head. Granted south harting is a bit daily mail but that seemed a bit snobby. Went in and had a very decent pint of Otter. The pub is nice if a bit open, could be cosier if they had some tall bench seating around the fire. Landlord was pleasant enough, beer was well kept, log fire was nice! Not the greatest pub in the world but would happily go back when in the village. I would suggest they relocate the enormous TV somewhere more subtle as it's a tad intrusive where it is.

Marquis of Cornwallis, Bloomsbury

S'ok, very student heavy population. Can be very hard to get served at busy times but plenty of space to stand and drink outside if it's warm. Selection of ales is usually ok with 2 or 3 rotating. Not always the best quality but happy to change is you ask.

Ye Olde Watling, Mansion House

Good after work boozer, good selection of ales, prompt bar staff. Can't really screw it up hopefully. 8/10 in the week, no idea at weekends but probably quiet.

The Clock House, Teddington

I really don't have an axe to grind but 'letsaveitthem' quite clearly owns the pub or works there. Does a genuine reviewer post stuff like ,"Can't wait for the new restaurant, succulent hot chickens.."?

You've only reviewed one pub since you signed up and it's yours. You then immediately put a counter post to a critical review. It does happen on this site but if you're going to do it try and put a bit more effort in.

The Clock House, Teddington

Post refit from the old Kings Arms it was a great little boozer. Sadly now going downhill again. Why? The manager is rude and disinterested, staff (with a couple of notable exceptions) are bored and don't hide it. The quality of punters is decreasing almost as fast as the volume of the music is increasing. Such a shame, easily fixed.

The Clock House, Teddington

It's ok, nice little pub with good food slap bang in the middle of the high street. Not too fancy and with a little garden for the smokers (please stop them smoking on the front porch so you get a lungfull on the way in!!). Could be improved with a happier landlord but better than the Kings Head or Teddington Arms. Worth a visit.

The Builders Arms, Teddington

Nice un-poncey backstreet boozer for a quiet drink after work or sunday pint. Can get busy when the footy is on but well kept beer and happy to help staff despite the slight 'local pub' feeling of the place. Only real criticism is the TV's, they are everywhere and slightly spoil the character.
