The Stag and Hounds, Edmonton

Excellent pub with good service and well kept beers, I dont often use branded pubs but this one was a plesure. Attentive staff, bright, tasty real ale and food was good although some items look to be a ding job. I had steak and chips and the steak was well cooked and crispy chips with a excellent pepper sauce. I would recommend this pub greatly but watch out for the dragon!

Prince of Wales, Herftord

I really like this pub the staff are attentive, the beer/ale is great and the food homemade. The owners are nice guys and its clearly on the up from what the prince used to be like. Comfy sofa's a nice smoking area and regular live music and quizs are all great reasons to visit.

The Plume Of Feathers, Tewin

Came here for afternoon drink which was clearly a bad idea.
We approached the already busy bar that had irate customers there who had been waiting 20mins to be served which put doubt in our minds on how long it was going to take to be served. Finally we were served after 15mins waiting to be served drinks in piping hot glasses which just melted the ice straight away and made my hazy ale even warmer than it originally was. The staff were very polite appologising to all customer before serving them and then serving them in order its just a shame there is not enough staff.
The bar is large enough to have a least 3 bartenders on not 1.
I just hope the managment take note of all of these reviews and staff accordingly for the future as it looks to me they are losing alot of trade because of this.
In regards to staff posting comments on here i feel thats very unprofessional and it should be done by the managment to reply to the posts as the staff member clearly is not promoting the pub well and not helping the already bad reputation it has for its service. At least let your boss about the site and rectify these regular occuring issues.
I will be returning again as the garden is lovely on a nice day but be pre-pared to wait a while for your drink and food.

The Plough, Coton

We went to the plough over the bank holiday weekend and was not disapointed at all. The food is clearly home-made and well presented on the plate, there was a good choice of food aswell. We sat outside on the decking which was lovely as it was a nice sunny day. Pimms was served properly with lots of fruit and ice and my partners wine was well chilled and refreshing. Service was prompt and attentive with plenty of staff working so no waiting. It is well priced and we will be returning again very soon to sample those excellent chips. I cant see how previous reviews have been so bad our visit was perfect and it was a very busy day for them, all i can say is well done keep up the good work.

The Navigator, Ware

This is a pub to avoid if you dont like big branded chain pubs full of advertisement and seedy old men. I went here for lunch and was greeted by nice staff and was served quickly, although my food never came at all because the staff didnt pick it up from the kitchen and the chef never told the staff it was ready. So i left very hungry and unhappy but with a refund after a waitress finally gave me a refund after finding out what happened, i had been waiting an hour already i didnt want to wait any longer for you to find out what happened as i just want to go now. Its a shame as the pub has a nice garden next to the river but again it gets forgotton about and tables build up with dirty plates and glasses, with over flowing ash trays aswell. The beers good and by far the cheapest in ware but you will have to sacrifice service for this.

Doctors Tonic, Welwyn Garden City

By far the nicest pub in wgc but thats easily done, i come here quite often and have to agree with others that the staff do lack a bit of banta and do congrigate by the coffee machine and made to feel you have disturbed them for a less than perfect pint. The food is good i especially like their burgers (very tasty) they need to change their ales more often instead of abbot and green king ipa, they get very boring very quickly. It has a nice patio area at the front with a seperate smoking area which is curtious to others. The management i see often walking around the pub and speaking to guests which is good, they just need to get the staff to do the same. Overall a nice pub but needs tweeking in areas to make it a good pub. I hope this reviews helps the managment to improve things.

The Cork, Welwyn Garden City

As other reviews state wgc lack excellent pubs and this is one to be avoided, sticky bar and tables, flat beer and average food are all topped off with miserable staff lacking motivation. This used to be a god boozer a few years ago and has now gone down hill. They show alot of sport and have late nights at weekends and the real ale can be good but there is no consistancy. Shame

Old Punch House, Ware

I really like this pub, it has a good atmosphere, good beers and the menu is value for money aswell. It has a nice smoking area for those who need it and they do regular themed nights such as live music. The only thing i dont like about the pub is the branded feel you get when walking in which is large posters everywhere and rolled cutlery. It is worth popping in for a pint if passing through.

The Attimore Hall, Welwyn Garden City

Has been my local for a long time now and it has gone right down hill, they keep changing the manager and the staff are just lazy and rude. The tables are constantly cluttered the service slow and the beer with a faint eggy smell to it. They need to employ some freindly staff and get a good manager in thats got experience within the trade. I know this pub very well as i used to work here and it can do alot better than present, it just needs some guidence. Although i keep going back because of the people who drink there and thats the only reason.

The Vine, Ware

I love this pub, lived in ware for years and is by far the best here. The food is clearly fresh and some well kept ales from local brewries. Im very partial to the grill night they have on wednesdays with a free bottle of wine so you cant go wrong there. It does get busy at times so would probably need to book in advance but is well worthit once you try there chips. Yummy
