The Joiners Arms, Denmark Hill

Went in this Pub recently I was gobsmacked to find that ther was no Real Ale on sale at all. Various people have said this is a real ale pub,.Where I couldn't find any? Must say though the bar staff and customers seem a nice bunch.

Ruse, Borough

No decent beer. No atmosphere. Indifferent service. What more needs to be said?

The Gladstone Arms, Borough

Visited this pub for the first time last week on a Tuesday lunchtime. It was nice to meet a Landlord who cares about the state of his ales (two on and both from cornwall) and is knowledgable about them too. Very quiet at the time I visited, the menu looked excellent though I didn't have time to try out their large range of pies. Must say though 3.25 a pint for an ale is a tad expensive. I probably will visit again if I win a few quid on the lottery.

Pommelers Rest, Tower Bridge

Whilst still cheap, compared to the local pubs, I am sorry to say that the recent price rises seem to be suggesting that this pub is in the City and not south of the Thames. If you were to visit either The Rockingham (Elephant and Castle. 15mins by bus) or The Surrey Docks (also 15mins by bus), you could enjoy the same guest ales for 1.89 a pint, rather than the 2.20 charged here.
That said, it is still a clean and friendly pub, with friendly bar staff. Unfortunately you sometimes have a very long wait for service even when the pub is less than 1/4 full.
