The White Lion, Bristol

Small but perfectly formed. As a Wickwar's pub that is what you will get, so bear that in mind. Having said that there is absolutely nothing wrong with Wickwar. (I can never order a pint of BOB without thinking of Blackadder). When we visited it was quiet, being a Friday mid-afternoon. Imagine at peak times space for elbows and lifting beer glasses would be at a premium. Well-kept beer.

The Seven Stars, Bristol

The interior is a bit scruffy, but I don't think that always matters and it certainly didn't offend us. (If you want a nice sterile environment there are plenty of others to choose). I think this pub is all about the beer of which there is a grand choice of ales and what was sampled was well kept. Nice bunch of people too, although this was the first of hopefully many visits.

The Cornubia, Bristol

Amazingly vibrant pub. A very good choice of beers kept well and would appear often changed. Lots of buzz and atmosphere when we visited on a late Friday afternoon. Felt very warm and welcoming. Very pleased to have found it.

The Commercial Rooms, Bristol

As most reviewers say..it is a Wetherspoon's so that will put it into it's own category, lacking any real depth of soul or spirit of individuality. It is however, a beautiful building. The staff are friendly enough, choice of beer good and on my visit well-kept.
