The Star, Godalming

Typical Greedy King pub. I really don't like this place at all, Greedy King can keep it.

The Britannia, Guildford

Another pub bites the dust? Are there any plans to re-open? If you ask me this is the perfect location for a pub but this pub has been terrible for ages. I hope it does open again as a much better pub as it would be ashame to lose another character in the area.

Ye Olde Ship Inn, Guildford

Remarkbly pleasant pub situated on the road between Guildford and Godalming. This is worth coming to for the real ale and the pizzas. If you take a walk you can get to the river nearby.

The Guildford Hotel, Guildford

[Closed]

6 Dec 2009 13:12

Auberge, Guildford

Does special offers on Stella & Becks between 4 and 7 in evenings.

3 Sep 2009 18:54

The Astolat, Guildford

Ok if in the area, standard beer range.

3 Sep 2009 18:53

Remix Bar, Woking

Does do special offers on beer some nights which is useful. Only the rubbish Kronenbourg on tap along with the not that amazing Fosters.

3 Sep 2009 18:52

The Kings Head, Guildford

What has happened to the beer here? Visited the other night and ESB, Honey Dew and London Pride all did not taste good. Or have Fullers just gone downhill. Not sure its worth drinking the Fullers ale sometimes. This still has a friendly atmosphere and is a good pub and I intend to eat out here fairly soon.

3 Sep 2009 18:51

The Black Swan, Martyr's Green

Visited today - and you get flustered by people trying to make you grab a seat and order as quick as possible but dont expect fast service. It has turned into a money making place rather than a relaxed pub so on that basis not great. On the plus side the food is pretty good but basically a restaurant and not a pub.

Farriers, Guildford

Becks Vier and Staropramen are two over rated lagers. Do not touch them and stick to the good ale

The Herbert Wells, Woking

one of reasonable places for a beer in town, could do with better tasting ales mind u. Plenty of guest ales on as always though the choice was less than in previious visits perhaps the staff r not upto scratch. beer did not taste right im afraid.

5 Apr 2009 15:43

Archee's Bar and Restaurant, Woking

Hardly a drinkers paradise - think they do Becks Vier and Guinness?

5 Apr 2009 15:41

The Albany, Guildford

Pint of Theakston set me back 3.50 are they having a laugh? how much does the GK cost? Dropping my rating to 5/10 - half price meals at the moment.

North Countymens Club, Colchester

Would not spend the night here, unless i was desperate.

30 Mar 2009 10:20

Edwards, Colchester

Nobody in their right mind likes chain bars like this.

30 Mar 2009 10:20

The Playhouse, Colchester

Come here to play or just some real ale.

30 Mar 2009 10:19

The New Inn, Colchester

Nice and new venue you wont feel left out if not a local.

30 Mar 2009 10:19

The Fat Cat, Colchester

Good for a meal or two. I also like the name.

30 Mar 2009 10:18

The Mansion House, Reading

Worth a visit if you can find it, if only for the views.

30 Mar 2009 10:17

The Bear and Dragon, Tilehurst

Shame if it has closed for good as was an ok visiting spot away from the centre.

30 Mar 2009 10:17

The Horse and Jockey, Reading

Music venue. Not much else to say, quite uninspiring.

30 Mar 2009 10:14

Nags Head, Reading

Pub for the Real Ale enthusiast. Worth a go.

30 Mar 2009 10:13

The Butler, Reading

Good to find a Fullers pub, tucked away somewhat mind you.

30 Mar 2009 10:12

The Orange House, Reading

Is John Smith's not cask ale? No it is not and this is not the place for ale, a place for a bit of nightlife.

30 Mar 2009 10:11

Pavlov's Dog, Reading

Dark and unpleasant looking from the outside and no real ale so not worth it.

30 Mar 2009 10:10

The Horn, Reading

Looks a bit dead - has it closed?

30 Mar 2009 10:09

The Allied Arms, Reading

Bit of a treasure in the Reading area - A real ale goldmine.

30 Mar 2009 10:08

The Bed Bar, Woking

Cheap, plastic smell I must say when walking in the other night. The venue is in an ideal location and the place itself is spacious and clean. But people don't come here, it is always dead until the late night drunks arrive. Because the beer is bad, this is not a proper pub at all just a late night money grabbing merchandise.

28 Mar 2009 20:28

The Keep, Guildford

I think this is where that VIC guy does the music sometimes, cant say i'd come here for an open mic night that is not my style u know but for a pub and an eating venture its pretty neat well named by the castle and all, as people have s aid decent ale at times though not a wide choice either does the best it can for what it is if u ask me. I reckon camra would visit here.

22 Mar 2009 14:28

Pews, Guildford

Hmmmm, Pews is interesting it used to be really quite a good venue in the day maybe a few years ago such as 2003 but these days nobody seems to give a toss about the place, im not sure if this is since they started staying open late and made it more of a piss up place. used 2 be ok for a meal out and all. i think the beer range aint much cop either now there was likes of worthingtons creamflow and boddings before now its basically the usual mix of lager.

22 Mar 2009 14:27

Fahrenheit 55, Guildford

Smallpiece lovely post but did not understand a fking word my friend, perhaps u were pissed thats right because this is the place where ppl come around to get pissed it aint much cop if you ask me though i would say at least they r a bit better with their range of bottled beers than they used 2 be so there is alternatives to boring lager or guinness usual mundane etc.. but would not choose it over town pubs.

22 Mar 2009 14:25

Jo Clarks, Guildford

Yeah, G & W that does rather state the obvious doesnt it.. but i dont really think its all that im not a real cafe person to tell u the truth they tend to be pretty soulless with no real character this is a little better than some in my opinion such as starbucks or whatever. u know if u want an interesting pot of tea it is ok. but dont come here for a pint!!

22 Mar 2009 14:23

Farriers, Guildford

well, in reply to alec i find there is just enough room to have 1 pint.. but yeah i totally take what u mean drinkers do feel like 2nd rate here they want people 2 come and dine and wine i think.. basically the food is a little pretentious and over priced for what u get and although there r some good bitters here, sussex i believe was good... u may be better off going to a different town pub. having said that a woman working here was friendly and it is better than nearby Haha and Sluggy.

22 Mar 2009 14:22

Slug and Lettuce, Guildford

typical bar and what do u expect from a chain pub 2 be honest? it is not exactly a crap hole that would be unjust but it is not good if u want a good honest pint or anything like that. i think there r 1 or 2 beers worth having in here but that is about all. im not a lager man as u can probably tell at the end of the day. over priced, food is acceptable on visit but its probably worth off than somewhere like wetherspoons and a bit plastic in truth. i'll give it a 1 mind u it deserves better than 0.

22 Mar 2009 14:19

The Royal Oak, Guildford

dont think its that bad like some of the others have made out, for my money its one of the better pubs in the town really. beer is really fullers if u fancy a real ale i think it was Esb and Pride but also a changing guest ale at times as well. i notice they r doing all meals for 5 pound or less i think to do with the credit crises lets hope they do ok because lets face it we dont want any more of these good pubs to go and be replaced by bars with no personality.

22 Mar 2009 14:18

The Robin Hood, Guildford

Good bog standard little off the town pub, bit off the way of the centre of town but worth a venture into, u may feel like u r being watched if going in here but its really ok with plenty of live music to keep the crowd entertained on these days, quite a few ales on from what i saw think the latest was youngs and iron horse also another one was off but better than some town places its fair 2 say.

22 Mar 2009 14:16

The Albany, Guildford

Quite an appetising looking menu here and i'd say its a place that may be worth enjoying a standard meal in, some of the food is ok but the drinks here are all on the expensive side. From what I can remember it was well over 3 pounds for a pint of ale, there appeared to be just the 2 on in fact i think they were green king ipa and old peculiar. bit of a gastro pub in truth bit of an evening place for people to go more than daytime pub.

22 Mar 2009 14:14

The Dolphin, Camberley

Walked past today. Empty and closed but still has boards in the windows!

17 Feb 2009 23:48

The Goose, Aldershot

Pool tables seem to attract the more unpleasant sort. Even so worth having a game here if you can.

8 Feb 2009 15:59

The Red Lion, Godalming

Best traditional pub in Godalming but been very up and down over the years. Would not wish to eat here but ok for a beer.

8 Feb 2009 15:57

The Rose and Crown, Godalming

If visiting Godalming for the first time this is the first pub you shall see. Pop in for a pint as it is not too bad.

8 Feb 2009 15:56

The Richmond Arms, Godalming

Quite a quiet pub. Ok beer but not much atmosphere.

8 Feb 2009 15:55

The Richmond Arms, Godalming

The Richmond Arms, Godalming

Quite a quiet pub. Ok beer but not much atmosphere.

8 Feb 2009 15:55

The Lounge Bar, Godalming

Quite a small pub. Not sure it ever gets much life here.

8 Feb 2009 15:54

The Sun, Godalming

Has Badger Beer. That is a good enough reason to visit. Also used to hold Quiz Nights.

8 Feb 2009 15:54

Jack George Phillips, Godalming

Decent pub. One of the bigger ones in Godalming. Used to hold quiz nights.

8 Feb 2009 15:53

The Star Inn, Guildford

Trying to sum this pub is not an easy task. Located on the edge of Quarry Street so basically just off the town centre.

On going in it seems pleasant enough, but then comes the statge where I have to order a pint or two, 1st pint was a Youngs Bitter, terrible tasting, not a good ale at all.

2nd time round I go and order a Hobgoblin, why do they bloody sell this shit! Terrible Ale in every way. Also the crowd was loud and screwed up the bar area big time. The staff were slow and not doing their job well... Ok i admit its hard when its busy but you know come on!

And finally, heard the live music coming from the other room, way too loud and noisy and not good... Man i know it sounds bad, but maybe I just had an off night, 2/10 for now.. :-)

29 Aug 2008 23:44

All Bar One, Guildford

I don't think you can call this a pub anymore. In fact it was never really a pub, it was a bar, now it is a restaurant. How can they only serve lager here? Not even Guinness, this won't appeal to a lot of people. Also I notice how most of the place was sectioned off for people eating. No points left.

25 Aug 2008 13:43

The Queens Head, Dorking

Under rated. I have no idea why this pub does not attract that many customers. It is a nice venue where the people in charge really make an effort. Happy going here again.

24 Aug 2008 11:17

The Cricketers, Dorking

I like Fullers pub as they go, this one is no different. Friendly crowd and very much has a historical feel to it. Give it a go.

24 Aug 2008 11:16

The Star, Dorking

This is a real family orientated pub, and a worth a visit for anyone in Dorking. Only downside is that it's a pub where you have go hang yourself back a bit, so as not to offend anyone. So just a small criticsm, but a nice place.

24 Aug 2008 11:15

The White Hart, Dorking

One of Dorking's finest old buildings. I recommend anyone visiting for this reason alone. Not exactly amazing food for everyone, but as for traditional Dorking this is really good.

24 Aug 2008 11:13

The Goldsworth Arms, Woking

Recently changed hands. Lacks atmosphere, which is disappointing, given its a big pub which could be so much better.

24 Aug 2008 11:11

Archee's Bar and Restaurant, Woking

This is a superbly place venue on Goldsworth Road, it is with somewhat disappointment that they cannot bring themselves to sell one Ale. Could be better.

24 Aug 2008 11:10

Enzo's Bar, Woking

Well placed bar/eating venue. Meals are hideously expensive, however surprisingly good beer range, friendly enough crowd and a good visit for anyone in the area.

24 Aug 2008 11:08

The Sovereigns, Woking

This place has so much going for it, great spot in Woking. This gastro pub outlet does well for both its food sales and ale drinkers. I think the last reviewer is too quick to judge, every now and again ales are going to go 'off'. As an alternative, why not have Guinness Red... a sound choice.

24 Aug 2008 11:07

Pews, Guildford

Good to see this place doing so well, The food is well prepared here and I am sure it would do well on a Scores on the Doors report. Worth visiting for any pub fan.

24 Aug 2008 11:04

The Boatman, Guildford

Had a lovely pint of Greene King IPA here the other day, prices are not cheap but not outlandish. Recommend for a sunny day to watch the World go by, with stunning views around the River Wey.

24 Aug 2008 11:02

The Keystone, Guildford

You'll find this little pub tucked away, well lit-up at night and a fine venue. Plenty of Ales on tap, including 6X and Black Sheep.

24 Aug 2008 11:01

The George Abbot, Guildford

This has been one of Guildford's benchmark pubs for a long time now. The drinks range is solid, I recommend the Greene King IPA to any drinker. Close enough to the river, yet cheaper than The White House. Please visit for Drinks, Food and Sports on TV.

24 Aug 2008 11:00

The Kings Head, Guildford

There are conflicting views here about the King's Head, what I will say is over the years its been a tremendous pub. I am sure the new people in charge are doing their best. Some people really are too quick to judge, give it time my friends.
