The Jolly Anglers, Wood Green

This place has potential. If it were to go up market a bit, put on a bigger range of real ales and publicize itself it could pull the real ale punters in. It has (an) atmosphere that could be built on to turn it into a decent boozer if only there is the will. A big plus point is the food which is excellent.

The Nelson, Wood Green

Hot and empty. The air con is just two industrial fans that drown out what conversation there is and only one is for the public. The other is just for the staff. No cooling, just moving the air about. It's beyond belief that they can get away with such conditions these days. Still there was ice for our gassy drinks at least. Yes, there was no beer, Unless you count keg IPA smooth as beer. A charmless place.

Goose, Wood Green

Good place to meet up with friends as it is difficult to miss but not really the place to stay for a session. Having said that there are not really any better pubs within spitting distance of Wood Green tube anymore. It's one of the best of a bad bunch.

The Toll Gate, Hornsey

Nice place, Staff need reminding just why they are there but that is par for the course in a Spoon pub. Beer was fine. Third or fourth time I have been here and will be coming back for more.

Spouter's Corner, Wood Green

The beer is well kept and I have no real issue with it. It's good and I would like to drink more but my friends feel a bit threatened so we will have to leave. This is a shame as we all like the choice and range of beers but this is ruined by the rather drunken "persons" who keep being served.

Catch 22, Turnpike Lane

Noisy, Dark, Expensive & Deserted. Still, a nice to sit outside and people watch in the afternoon. Not the kind of place to take a lady in the evening.
