The Bull Inn, Bulverhythe

The worst pub 'Sunday Roast' I can ever remember. The meat smelt fishy and had obviously been overly re-heated. To rub salt into the wound the 'chef' was puffing away at a roll up in clear view outside in between serving other customers. I've no doubt he washed his hands after smoking but it's not something I like to see when I'm eating a meal.
A pub to avoid.

Victoria Hotel, Eastbourne

Harvey's Tom Paine on draught was excellent as was the chilli con carne. Well worth a few minutes walk from the town centre.

The Royal Oak, Borough

Harvey's Tom Paine was as tremendous as always in July and the rabbit pie delicious. Staff weren't too sure where the rabbit came from (possibly France). Just hope it wasn't China.

Excellent pub. Harveys Best is always on but also Timothy Taylor's Landlord from time to time. The latest time recently it was truly supurb!

The White Hart, Arundel

Marvellous to find Tom Paine on tap this year - a pity that no food is available.

Prince Albert, Broadstairs

Nice to find Harvey's Best here in an area dominated by Shepherd Neame.

Neptunes Hall, Broadstairs

Visited this pub during folk week. Very friendly and traditional.

Staff on a Friday lunchtime seemed totally uninterested. Food nothing but chips. Who wants chips with a sandwich? No Harveys seasonal beer available despite it being a Harveys pub.

The Swan Inn, Midhurst

Despite being a Harveys pub, only one Harveys beer was available. No food available on a Saturday lunchtime (or by the look of it at any other time). What's happened to this pub? It used to be excellent.

Sankey's, Tunbridge Wells

We came for a weekday lunch. The waitress greeted us in a rude manner, telling us sternly to sit down before she would even consider talking to us. The patio was dirty with lots of rubbish strewn under a lob-sided barbeque device. An electrician carried on working on the lighting over adjacent tables, with people sitting all around him. There were no tables set aside for non-smokers - all had mucky ashtrays on them. The waitress stroked the ownwer's dog, that was allowed to run about without any constraint, and then served food without washing her hands. To cap it all my beer glass was filthy with hairy fluff all around the rim.
The food? Very much better value and taste in umpteen other Tunbridge Wells establishments.

Elephants Head, Hook Green

Excellent Harvey's beer. Hot food also very good but spoiled by being served on a stone cold plate!

The Crown and Greyhound, Dulwich

Waited nearly half an hour for a steak pie when there were only about six other people in the pub. Excuse was that there was something wrong with the printer!
Was offered a free pint in compensation that I did'nt really want, but accepted anyway!
I was surprised and very pleased to find that they were selling Harvey's Best.

Wheatsheaf, Crowborough

Previous report should have read 'had many excellent pints of Bonfire Boy and Christmas Ale' during November and December. The latest seasonal offering is also terrific - Harvey's 'Kiss'.

The Crystal Palace, Tunbridge Wells

Christmas Ale very good during December.

Against my better judgement, but feeling thirsty, I called again to sample Harvey's Bonfire Boy. This time it tasted almost perfect. Two families were turned away on a Saturday lunchtime as they were not doing food. Fortunately this time next year there will be no smoking in this pub or any other.

The Crystal Palace, Tunbridge Wells

Full of stinking smoke as usual with bar staff smoking at bar. Harvey's seasonal beer 'Bonfire Boy' OK but not quite up to scratch - slow turnover?

The Phoenix, Canterbury

Filthy gents loo with mould on the urinals. Insipid Wychwood beer. No food at lunchtime on the Tuesday I visited. Odd clientele.

Wheatsheaf, Crowborough

Visited at lunchtime - lovely weather.
One of Harvey's finest ales 'Tom Paine' tasted as if it had been in the pipes overnight.
The barperson was eating crisps while serving beer and the ploughman's lunch had a half-cooked baguette and the butter portions tasted half-rancid.
