The Occasional Half, Palmers Green

Good pub. Usually not too crowded except when the dreaded karaoke is on. The real ale is often OK and it rings the changes from time to time. The bog standard ale is Bombardier.

Spouter's Corner, Wood Green

Now the good weather is here you have a lot of drunken smoking yobs (of both sexes) hanging arond outside. With increased trade you would expect more staff on hand but you would be disappointed. The ale is a good price and is well kept but this is not enough to offset the poor service. Not a place to leave your shopping unattended when you nip to the bar for a second pint.

Goose, Wood Green

Dont usually go there in the evening but we needed another pint or two. Beer (all real ale varities) good, staff fine, toilets OK, patrons old and slightly dodgy. And all slightly pissed. This pub is definitly better than the one across the road and also the one up the hill.

The Nelson, Wood Green

Have been here a few times before and always found it a bit disapointing but this evening was the worst. After working our way up the High road it was a bit of shock to find a practically empty pub, miserable bar staff and no real ale. We went back to the Goose, the Nelson was that good.

The Toll Gate, Hornsey

Popped in last night. Not too busy with a good range of beers. Bar staff efficient but a bit distracted. I think one of them was having a bit of a crises at the time! Sat near the front door to get a mild nicotine fix from the reasonably sized front patio. Quite a pleasant place all in all, much better than the other Wetherspoons pub up the road.

The Bree Louise, Euston

Tried it again this lunchtime and it was full. Strange for a Tuesday! The Doombar was on top form, nice to see it gravity fed. Good value food as always. I had one of their massive burgers while my partner one of their wonderful pies. An all round good boozer if a bit spartan. The new seats outside are much welcome, if not so exciting.
