The Market Inn, Petersfield

Now a clothes shop.

Now closed with no sign of re-opening

The Old Drum, Petersfield

It gets worse. Beers are often off, and the hand pumps have been abandoned as they cannot keep them clean. A shame. Try the Town House on the High Street. Amazing what a change of management can do.

Three Horseshoes, Elsted

While beers still good (we have been going there for years), I cannot say the same for the food. 4 of us ordered different meals, which arrived suspiciously quickly after 15 minutes. My wife's meal was cold in parts, so she sent it back & ordered a risotto, which was made with pudding rice! Shall not go again for food until they get a new chef & bin the microwave. A pity.

Beer still as good as ever, but food service is now dire. Recently for 90 minutes to get our food!

The Birch Hall Inn, Beck Hole

Stay away, I want to keep this place for myself. Once inside, there is no reason to leave. Step back 80 years in the pub that time forgot. Friendly landlord & locals, excellent ales, and good pie & sandwiches. If only the NYMR would stop their trains there.....

The Wheatsheaf Inn, Egton

We stayed here for 4 nights, and did not want to leave. Nigel & Elaine are excellent hosts, the B&B accommodation was of a standard way above the norm, and the restaurant had some of the best pub food we have had in Yorkshire. Highly recommended.

The Malet Arms, Newton Tony

A remote & charming country gem. Ancient interior and furniture, complemented by excellent ales and good food, with game prevalent. Have been there twice now & shall definitely go again if in the area.

The Old Drum, Petersfield

Ignore any reviews prior to 2012, this place has changed completely. Gone is the black hole, and it is (IMHO) now the best place to drink in Petersfield, with excellent ales from independent breweries, good food and friendly staff. They even have a triangular cribbage board!

The Charles Dickens, Southwark

One of the best kept secrets in London. A fine traditional pub, with 6 ever-changing beers, mainly from micro breweries. Good value food as well. Has small paved beer garden at rear for smokers. Quiz night Wednesdays. Excellent service from friendly staff. High recommended.

The Black Fox Inn, Milland

This pub was a great find. Beer, food & service all excellent. Don't be put off by the dated decor!

The Rising Sun, Milland

Have been to this pub 3 times & have endured loud rock bands in the garden, the landlord's taste(?) in music over the hi-fi, and obscenities from the (obviously not local) clientele. If you are looking for a nice quiet country pub, forget it,
