I went in for lunch recently, and it was very poor and overpriced for what it was. Service wasn't great either. I haven't been there on a weekend night, so I can't comment on that.

Only been in the place a couple of times over the years.
Usually got music or sports blaring. Last time I was in there, some short blonde came in to flash her boobs at the bar and walked out. A bit on the chavvy side, which is a shame as its got a great location and good decor. Probably just needs a decent landlord to sort it out

Big improvement in this place since I last visited it about 18 months ago. I used to come in here to show visitors the character, but it had a really unwelcoming feeling with a couple of openly hostile South African barmen in charge.
The new owner has really done a good job to get rid of some of the gloom in the place, and the beer garden is much more welcoming and family friendly than it once was.
I've been there a few times over the past few weeks with friends, and I'll definitely go back again soon. The food menu looks really good too.

White Horse, Harpenden
A very peculiar place. So much for the hoo ha about the refurb. It's still serving overpriced nosh, with really poor service. The bar has all the atmosphere of Luton Airport departures lounge (not as many chavs in the White Horse to be fair).
